Pricing good. God botherers' reserved parking not very clearly marked - so in the spirit of Christmas you get a £35 fine if paid promptly. Not that any of these spaces were being used between 5 on a Tuesday eve and 9 on the weds morning...
St. David's seems to be the main car park in Swansea but you can see why as its just off the main road as you drive into the city and the fact its the best one, and cheapest aswell nearest to all the main amenities and shops. Not the cleanest as its and old looking car park and you may find with the new massive cars and SUV's that it is very tight making a turn to go up and round onto the next level so take care as you manovere. The pay machine when we went wasnt taking payments and you had to download the app... Along with all the other frustrated people having to do the same. When we did get it we paid for 24hrs. The annoying thing was, was that we needed to extend it but the app wouldn't allow it until the time period was reached the next day which was awkward as we had to be on the ball waiting for it to expire which was a pain as we had things to do. The app I suppose is a good idea but what about older people who aren't tech savvy? What would they do if the machine wasn't taking cash or card? That needs to be addressed. Apart from that it seemed a secure place to park but it's main plus points is it's proximity to everything.
A well priced car park in a useful location for the Quadrant Shopping Centre and general town centre.nBlue badge holders do have to pay, but at 50% of standard rates.nOther nearby car parks are more expensive, so this one is worth noting.
Starting with the positives, £5 for 24 hours is good value.nnUnfortunately the parking machines are rather confusing, and I didn’t see anywhere that stated “Pay and Display” clearly. I remember looking all over my printed ticket and it didn’t suggest I needed to display it.nnI arrived back to the car the following day to a PCN because a ticket wasn’t displayed. Without this valuable knowledge, 24 hours is actually £30+. I chose to just pay the discounted PCN than risk it going to £50, but I do think this must be clearer.
Used to watch Paul smith tour, bought a parking ticket & displayed on the dash yet came out to find a parking ticket. Ticket was very obvious, granted it was dark but still...
