Excellent place to stay. Every one of the management and staff are very friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. The room was very comfortable. Good location for visiting surrounding towns, attractions etc. A selection of good beers, and the breakfast certainly sets you up for the day. Highly recommended.Rooms: 5/5
Went there for dinner recently and really enjoyed it. It was a nice drive to get there. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was very nice. They even have a campsite with 21 pitches and a few rooms in the pubService: 5/5
Stopped off here enroute by chance. The staff were super friendly and a good range of ales and beers. The food was really tasty and freshly cooked, the best pie in a long time with skin on fries and super fresh peas. Deffo going to stop here again. Thoroughly recommend.
Drove over from Chesterfield for a cheeky lunchtime pint as it was the re-launch. Stayed for lunch after seeing the new menu and the effort the owners have put in to make a success of things. Can recommend the beef and onion baguette, which came with a nice salad. Beef was tender, and the baguette nice and soft. Ordered a side of skin-on chips, which was a generous portion and tasty, too. Tuna mayo on a barm cake was enjoyed by Mrs. M, and Mattie the dog was made to feel welcome, too. Music, Open Mic Nights and lots more are planned, so we will definitely visit again. Great spot to call in for local walks - give it a go.
A fabulous place to stay, we stayed for two nights and I have to say it was a pleasure. The owners Alan & Suzanne made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We stayed in the Sycamore room which was very comfortable and provided all the usual comforts you expect in a well run establishment the only issue was you could not control the heating in the bathroom which made it uncomfortable in the night. We had food both nights and it is excellent, very good quality and well cooked. The bar staff are very attentive and welcoming. A good range of beers, wine and spirits. The locals are very friendly. Ideal place near to local attractions of Matlock and Cromford. We would stay again if in the area. Wishing Alan & Suzanne the very best of luck in there new venture. Andy & Linda
Fantastic friendly staff who couldn't do enough. Great atmosphere, great food and the most remarkable comfy beds. The food was terrific night and morning. Great beer and gin. Many thanks for a lovely stay. Rooms: The best mattress, pillows I have had the luxury of. Lovely decor and a great TV. Would recommend. Nearby activities: Many things to do nearby and wonderful villages and scenery. Nearby garden centre, peak shopping villages, Matlock, Chatsworth. Great location. Food & drinks: Good quality food and drinks with great variation.
Spent 2 nights here last weekend - staff welcoming, friendly, attentive. Good beer and food. Great room. Dog friendly with walks easily accessible from the door. What more can you ask for?
I didn't go inside but ate outside and can't fault it. Service was very good the food was excellent and great value for your money. We will definitely be going back.Service: 5/5
A good stopover site near Matlock. Well placed for Chatsworth house and Bakewell. A nice little pub with a campsite across the road. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. They only took over the pub in November and are making good progress to make this a great site. The campsite needs a bit of work. It's a basic site at the moment but has potential. There are 2 modern washrooms in the pub just for the campsite use. The site is great value for money at only £20 a night, I think this will increase as they improve the site.
Excellent. Really friendly, great room and services. Entertainment value 10 out of 10, Food delicious. Myself and my wife went on our motorbikes and with extra bike clobber it was no problem at all. Highly recommended Rooms: 5/5
