The site is smaller than it appears on the photos, the fishing is great, the facilities are OK, could be cleaner tbh. It's dog friendly but you have to go off site some distance to find a decent dog walk and although there are rules about keeping your dog on lead at all times the owners dogs roam freely and one pee'd up our water barrel!

We didn't take any photos but we really enjoyed our stay here. We were passing through after visiting Calke Abbey and called ahead to see about a late check-in 6pm ish. The owners welcomed us and we had a chat about the business of fishing we're not anglers, just wanted a campsite.  Our children played with the owners' children on the green in the middle of the camping area. We watched a few anglers fishing and caught the end of a 'match' with caught fish being weighed.  Loos and showers were all clean, same with dishwashing area and chemical disposal area available.  Also around the perimeter were grey waste drains and fresh-water taps.  Very comparatively priced also at £20 per night for a pitch & 2 adults without EHU. We were happy to pay the extra £7 for a late checkout.
