Lovely sunny beer garden and I had pie and mash which was lovely! My husband had the burger lovely sitting area in the conservatory. I've had many a drink in the beer garden too and I love it here.
Stopped in for a lunch whilst in the area. Had the cheese ploughmans. This had plenty of cheese, three generous portions of cheddar, brie, and stilton which was a great surprise recently in other pubs, only cheddar is offered. Plenty of pickle too and the bread nice and fresh. Nice shady garden, dog friendly, and staff were plesant and helpful.
Great place, good pub grub - especially the sticky toffee pudding , amazing staff and atmosphere... All that you need x. Also a wonderful array of spotted cows - many of which have been given to them by their lovely customers
We were staying at local campsite and this was a nice easy walk to I had the smokie haddock meal and it was lovely definitely coming back
This pub is just great. Make your way to a table, take a seat and you will be met with a smile from the pub owner and your order will be taken. Fast, friendly and the ales were great. If there is no seating room at the front, wonder around the back and there are plenty of seats available. COVID table service applied at the time of visit.
Stumbled across this place whilst visiting Littlehampton and Googled dog friendly pubs. Superb welcome, fantastic food and a really nice pint of Harveys. Friendly staff as well. Cracking pub!
Good service effort by a young man....... however beef bourguignon was a thick gloopy gravy and just beef. No red wine, shallots or mushrooms in sight. It was nice and Tender but not as expected. When I was asked how my food was, as my husbands was not right, I did not want to point out what I thought beef bourguignon was.... compared to thier version. My husband is not a fuss pot and said his ribs did not taste right, chef tried and agreed and challenging butcher about this. At least they tried, changed his dish for scampi. We wont be going back.
Excellent food and service, nice village pub with quick access to a beautiful walk up to Highdown Hill.
Didn't realise this place existed. Typical older pub with good well kept beer and friendly landlord. Plenty of free on-site parking and outdoor beer garden which backs onto a HUGE housing development which those living there will no doubt make their local.
Hidden pub. Use you map device to find, or of course ask. Big inside eating area, large garden currently with new homes being bulit alongside - so blights the view a bit. I think there was only one bar inside - but i might be wrong. but this was nice and reminded me of an old Public Bar. Good choice of beers. Good choice of food. We sat outside and had the ploughmans. One cheese, which was excellent - plenty of cheese. And one ham, which could habe been better - packet ham! Very good, friendly service and we will be back again.
