Sports direct has moved over the road in Broad Street Reading. Now occupying the old Olsen property. It is huge. Seriously. Huge. Great layout. Loads of stock. It’s massive.
Some good offers but really it’s the only positive. Ask a staff member if they have the shoes I pointed out and they go away, then come back with the box without a single word, staff more interested in talking about their day off plans with eachother, rather than interacting with the customers in the building and, I don’t know what it is with sport shops in general, but why must we be subjected to the awful crap music, uncensored of course with the kids in the building. Good items, good deals, but that’s just the stock, can’t say much else to the other aspects
There was this one lady, do not know whether she was a manager or not, standing in front of the shop staring down at me, there was a part of me that wanted to turn around and say that as a customer we are responsible for your pay. Train them some decent manners, the basic of customer experience is to be made welcomed, failed at that too.
The new store in Broad Street is absolutely fabulous with great discounts and ample choice of products. The product is well displayed and neatly stacked. The shop floor is not as cluttered as the old store in the same street a few steps away!
Visit the reading store this morning. I was directed to upstairs. I was asking help from a sales lady named Julia and very unprofessional. Was not willing to help and everything I asked was a simple answer from her NO. Shame it's a lovely store and staff that don't wanna provide customer service and happy to work
This is the worst shop. There are lot of staff on men unit but they cant help if you want something from woman unit. I was waiting very long time. I found nice shoes i wanted to buy but i did not buy because there was nobody to bring my size from store room!!!! Horrible experience!!!!!
Sports direct in Reading ! New store great ....people that work there absolutely diabolical. What do you expect, if the manager isn't on his phone he's being rude about you in ear shot...as you walk away. This bitter man is not training anyone in anything , staff are just dismissive, complacent and unwilling to help. I would love head office to reach so I could give some clear examples. My boy loves going in there....for me it's a horrible nightmare. They treat you as if they have an in joke about you. The last four times I've been in there I've left wanting to fire bomb the place. I see another person has left a 1 star review and 12 have agreed.
New location and better clothing but why they kept that Polish girl upstairs is beyond me as she has not got a clue about serving customers and is rude and rolls her eyes if you ask her something, if she doesn't like working there then why not leave? She is outdated in her looks, her approach to the job and her character and should have gone along with the outdated old building. However the rest of the staff are normal people who behave normally with customers.
The worst online order experience! First they removed one item from my order saying literally “changed mind”! Really? You changed your mind? Okay I decided to pick up the last item from the store.. I spent 1 hour staying near cashier and looking at my parcel but they couldn’t give it to me as in their system it still says it should be 2 items, not one!!! To support my words and if any case they read this my order number is APPSD40000104750098 23/11/2023 Thank you sports direct, you will never see me again
