Bought a bike from Evans, Scott Aspect 930 (great bike - £600). 6 weeks later after reasonable usage and riding to work, it starts acting up. Chain skips, sounds clunky, not doing too well. Evans took it in for it's 6 week service and nothing improved. Gave it back and they didn't do anything further as they said it was fine. "Manufacture recommends not to use extremes in terms of gears". This turned out to be true, however the bike still wasn't right in any regard. Called up Spokes & Spanners and spoke to Dean, and briefed him on what was wrong. 1 hour later and it's in the shop getting looked at. He let me join him in the workshop to see exactly what he was doing so I could learn how to adjust the breaks and gears and tune it myself (to a degree). Had it up on the stand for 15-20 minutes, and it was back up to full power. Brand new. I went a bit crazy and bought a few new parts which Dean fitted with no hassle, again letting me watch. 2 hours later, labour was £22.00. For 2 hours work and basically a lesson on bike mechanics. Customer for life, couldn't be more impressed. I'll have to give it 5 stars because unfortunately 10 isn't an option.
