After being referred privately, I had to chase up before Spire bothered to schedule the long awaited appointment. Disgusting for a private service my health insurers are paying for. At least the NHS do provide appointments once in receipt of referrals. On a positive note, the staff who looked after me for my procedure were amazing and faultless.
Parking spaces aren’t wide enough for today’s modern cars. Parking is awful due to the staff using the same car park as patients in addition to this four disabled spaces have been removed to make way for electric charging points which just sit there empty well everyone else struggles for spaces. In addition to this unless you are an inpatient the day care rooms have now been changed to little changing cubicles where you have to share a toilet not what I expect from a private hospital. Try Sarum Road in Winchester, so much better.
It was a lovey place , from walking in the door to a friendly helpful receptionist who was amazing with my 9 year old daughter to the 2 gentlemen doing the MRI who were very kind and understanding of my child’s needs knowing that this would be scary for her age. Would highly recommend.
From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, Dr Repanos and the team were fantastic. Everything went to plan and I happily come again if the situation ever arose. Thank you to you all for your wonderful service.
I had higher expectations for a private hospital. For my second consultation, I waited 45 minutes, just because they forgot about me! Also, they made two follow up appointments without bothering to inform me no text, no email or phone call. Nobody called me when, even two months after a scan, the results have not been communicated. When I called they told me I missed the prior appointment the one they didn’t tell me about, and the following availability offered was within 1.5 months…
I suffered an injury at work and had an MRI scan and subsequent back surgery at the Spire. The whole process was first class, I was treated with such regard, kindness and understanding. The room was excellent as was the food and large choice on the menu. The staff from nurses, porters, receptionists, doctors physios and the surgeon who performed the operation was truly exceptional. I was released the following day and able to gingerly walk out. I was fortunate enough that my employer covered the costs but I would not hesitate to use again if I ever have to touch wood I don’t.
Due to have surgery today Saturday. Arrived at 7am and completed forms. Whilst waiting for rooms, I overheard part of a phonecall, the keywords being "Mr Mercer....list cancelled". Shortly after, a senior nurse took the 3 patients including me on Mr Mercer's list into a room to tell us our surgeries had to be cancelled. The reason given being nurses calling in sick, meaning staffing levels aren't adequate to ensure our care safety. I'm left questioning how, in a privately run hospital, this situation cannot be overcome by the use of 'Bank nurses'? Understandably, patients already anxious ahead of their surgery were upset by this situation. All had made plans and in my case, had to cancel a holiday at a cost of several hundred £'s to attend on this date. I'm very upset and not impressed by the hospital's contingency planning.
I attended the one stop knee clinic with Mr Cossey and can not thank/recommend him enough. After decades of pain and being dismissed by the NHS I finally and hesitantly decided to go private to just get some answers. Less than 2 hours after my arrival I had MRI scans and a full diagnosis with recommendations on where to go next. The staff were all extremely friendly and took their time explaining things to me as I was a bit nervous. I can’t thank Spire and Mr Cossey enough.
I would love to give zero. Paid for a half hour consultation and doc was 10 minutes late, and only sat with me for 10 minutes. This is my first visit, seemed completely disinterested in my medical history and learning about the problem. I asked how to get off my medication you know, actually heal and get better and he looked at me like I had 3 heads. He had absolutely no answer. He offered me a range of bloodwork options, and how much they cost. This man was not a doctor, but a Salesman. He was keen to give me whatever prescription or bloodwork I asked for, regardless of actual need. Then I had blood work done, I brought my children with me, stay at home mom, so they are always with me I was rudely told that this is not allowed when I showed up... mind you, my children were with me when I made the appointment and noone said a word. And then they called to say the results were in and if I wanted to know the results I could book another appointment more money to get the results over the phone. The staff is short, and apathetic. There is absolutely no healing happening here. Just managing your symptoms through a never ending loop of pay to play for whatever medication or procedure you choose. Allopathic medicine is a joke. And so is this facility. Don't go.
Day surgery recently for my knee. Extremely professional, caring and courteous team. Stayed in one of the refurbed blocks so was excellent. Only downside is the parking while the refurb taking place. Been impressed with my care since the problem started in May. Thanks.
