I have had both NHS & private treatment at this hospital and can only applaud the clinical staff for their compassion, kindness and professionalism. I have felt looked after every step of the way from the consultant to the student nurses. A very small number of admin staff have not lived up to the reputation the clinicians set for this hospital but for the amount of personnel they have, I guess that's a fair representation. I would not hesitate to choose this hospital again if given the option. Thank you.
I had a consultation with Dr Cox regarding the bones in my wrist. He was polite, knowledgeable and helped me understand possible causes of the problem. Getting in contact with the orthopaedic team was easy and they were very cordial. I would recommend this department at Spire. I needed an MRI scan as part of my treatment and was transferred to the MRI department. It was more difficult getting in contact with them, and the person who answered was unpleasant. She was only the third person I shared my pregnancy news with out of necessity and she was so rude and demeaning, I was quite upset after disclosing it to her.
We were very disappointed with Dr Henny Lukman. After explaining my 19 year old daughter was having periods lasting for between 52 and 81 days along with a host of other symptoms, her words were ‘I don’t think there is a problem’. An awful lot of money for just a ten minute appointment. My daughter was very upset and felt invalidated. We immediately booked Hampshire clinic Mr Goumalatsos and on the first visit he diagnosed what he suspected, followed up with blood tests and scans and confirmed PCOS and booked in treatment. The experience at Spire was unnecessary and it felt like Dr Lukman was more concerned with her appearance than my daughter. Refresher training would be advantageous. Hampshire Clinic was excellent.
Great hospital & facilities! Professional & high standard. Reception staff & nurse were so helpful & caring with my little boy when he collapsed with his condition. On this occasion we saw Paediatric Cardiologist Dr Kevin Roman who is an expert in his area. He had great understanding & experience. Dr Roman was kind & lovely with my son who felt well looked after, listened to & helped. All staff were very friendly & welcoming. I’d highly recommend.
Had an appointment with Varajini Joganathan To look at bags under my eyes removal. £200 fee then estimate of £4600 as opposed to Signiture in London of £2400. Tried to negotiate but no. They took my card details before the appointment so not sure if they lost them but here we are 3 months latter and they are threatening balifs! For the £200 fee I was unaware and don’t understand why no phone call. All emails went to spam. I stuck with Signiture and they did an amazing job. Derek Moore
I really want to emphasise that the quality of care that I received yesterday was outstanding, choosing the right hospital is crucial and I am so glad I chose Spire. I arrived at 7am and was greeted by very welcoming reception staff and handed my paperwork to sign shortly after, to the admissions ward and show to my room. The cleanliness of the ward and operating theatre was immaculate, the food was lovely, the lady taking care of me was very helpful and explained everything to me throughly. Now on to my anaesthetist and surgeon, I couldn’t of wished for better than these two gentlemen. It is absolutely natural to feel uneasy when going for surgery but I didn’t have any worries at all I knew I was in very safe hands. Dr Sawyer is highly recommended and I will be returning to himself and his team in time to come for further procedures. From the very start of enquiring with Dr Sawyers secretaries also booking my consultations and my admission was easy and effortless for me. Thank you Spire hospital for providing a very professional and prompt service.
Cut off on the phone. Can you please have staff who understand English! I have had to repeat myself five times. Please do not have a system of sending images that requires at least two email addresses! And you need an alternative to a cell phone - I do not receive any mobile coverage where I am. You should have the knowledge to know you can not send codes to a landline.
Just released after Mitral valve repair in the Spire as an NHS patient. My consultant was superb, kind, attentive, skilled and caring. Mr Modi visited prior to the operation and explained exactly how the procedure would proceed. Afterwards he checked on all his patients three times, cannot fault this excellent surgeon. The hospital staff were welcoming, calm, thorough , everything was clean, organised and I wasn't made to feel any less important to them as an NHS patient. The food was good, cup of tea served on a tray anything you required you just asked for. Jen the physio was great and very helpful and caring all the staff, nurses, healthcare workers, catering staff were lovely caring and professional. Thank you Spire you made a harrowing experience the best it could have been.
Do not use Mr Vas Trompetas, whilst i was recovering from major surgery that thankfully was carried out by another surgeon he and his secretary told me they were going to send debt collectors to my house. Very unkind people, his sectetary Suzy Cousins even laughed down the phone at me. This is not how i would expect to be treated and have not been treated this way by any other medical peofessional.
I am still at the hospital but have been so pleased with my care I thought I would write now before I forget. I have been for a one night stay in an private room and under the care of Mr F Gardener for my operation. The room itself is immaculate and comfortable with a large tv to watch from the bed and own private en-suite with shampoo, body wash, dressing gown etc provided. The buzzer has separate buttons for the nurses or the catering staff which is brilliant so you don’t feel like you’re pestering the wrong people. My care has been fantastic and everyone has been so nice. I think the longest I ever had to wait for a nurse once buzzed was about two minutes and they could not do enough for you, never making you feel a nuisance for asking for basic help. The food has been delicious and was accessible whenever I needed. It has felt like being at a hotel and just coming for surgery. I could not have asked for better care and if I have to have any further treatment I wouldn’t hesitate in coming back.
