The best by far for takeaways. We have tried many others in the area but none were as good as as Spice Island so we will stick to this place in future. Nice to find a restaurant that uses fresh vegetables in their curries! Always beautifully cooked and not too oily, the menu offers a good choice for vegetarians and vegans
Takeaway for two ordered via telephone for collection. Prompt, helpful and polite service whilst ordering. Food ready when advised and as ever food was excellent and piping hot. Varied and reasonably priced menu plus the restaurant has many covers for dining in. Fantastic service from start to finish. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Tastiest curry I've had in ages, really good portion size too and especially loved it as do my favourite curry which not many places do. Only thing is missed the mint sauce but not worth losing a star over as the rest was so good! Found our new takeaway
Absolutely fantastic. Hospitality was genuinely the best i’ve ever received, me and my wife came late and night and we were treated with so much genuine care and compassion. Food was amazing too, the dhansak is my favorite dish and these guys did not fail!!
Well, what can we say. I never leave reviews, but this warrants it to warn others. We were passing through and met with a relative who had moved in locally and went looking for a curry. After being refused entry in another curry house being a 5 person party. We found this place. Alarm bells immediately as only 2 people sitting in on Saturday night with 20ish tables empty. The waitress had to go and ask someone if it was ok if we sat in, which was agreed. But we were so hungry after our very busy day. I had veg pakora for starters. Never seen them in sausage form before and was made clearly from frozen. Then our mains came out. OMG HORRENDOUS! Apparently chicken, though nobody ate it, as it tasted and smelt funny. The sauce was slimy and was knee deep in Ghee and was revolting! Unpalatable. Also they served a vegetarian a vegetable rice with fish in it!!! Charged £150 for the privilege. Reluctantly paid as not to embarrass my relative we were visiting. Nothing else to say other than ..... I have no idea where the positive reviews have come from. I suspect foul play. Horrendous! Vegetarian options: I wouldn't order as it comes out with meat in them anyway
Curry was horrible! Took 2 hours to arrive and it was cold. Chicken was disgusting and the curry sauce was like water. Would not recommend.
I am a witness to the disgusting threatening behaviour shown by the male delivery driver apparently the manager this evening. I have obtained the drivers licence plate and was considering phoning the police; I honestly felt like he was about to hit my mother had I not intervened. I am a full time NHS doctor and regularly have to deal with dissatisfied and sometimes angry/aggressive patients and families who have been waiting for several hours in A&E. I know very well that no matter how stressed you are as a staff member, it is very important to be professional at all times. I do not wish for anyone to lose their job. But this manager clearly needs to go on a customer service course. Utter disgrace. I have been going here for 15 years but will never go again. Dr Joe Mannion MBChB BSc Hons
Food was full of flavour, with the service they went above and beyond, highly recommend if you're looking for some good food!!!!!!
It here on a Monday evening it's just me and the restaurant new surprise on Monday that it was quiet, enjoyed my meal
