Popped in on off chance they had room . Lovely restaurant, very polite staff and quick service . Food was perfect, fresh and very hot .
So good we ordered 2x in one week for family while vacationing in Criccieth. Great quality, spice, flavors. Recommend chef’s mix biryani & tikka + onion bahji. lamb pass. Friendly staff, thank you!
Probably the best chicken tikka I've ever had. Flavoursome and nicely presented, with a side of special pilau rice and chips. The staff were friendly and accommodating, throwing in a free extra poppadom for my young daughter, and the building itself is interesting, featuring an old safe from when it was previously used as a bank. Would definitely go back the next time I'm in Criccieth.
Decent place for Indian food with large dining area. Food, however, is bland appealing to English clientele only. Not bad if you're holidaying in that area and craving desi food.
We ordered butter chicken, no way was this chicken. Sent it back and another butter chicken dish arrived, oily and awful. Also ordered another chicken dish although the chicken tasted better the sauce was horrendous
I was the first customer of the evening. The poppadoms were not too fresh but everything else was fine. I had the chicken jalfrezi with garlic rice. Very tasty.
The service was amazing. Staff were polite and friendly. They helped us with parking and took care of our dietary needs quite well.
Food was fairly nice but service was pretty poor, no glasses for the jugs of water, no cutlery replaced after starters, starters brought out within 1 minute of poppadoms, mains brought out within a few minutes of starters, so the tables ended up piled high with many different dishes leaving no room to manoeuvre or even eat comfortably, imo fairly basic stuff. Also, very cold inside the restaurant too which we also experienced on our last visit a few years ago.
Wouldn't even give 1 star if I could. It is not the representation of Indian cuisine and I would go as far as saying it is an insult. Anyone that recognises the beauty of indian cuisine would be highly disappointed. I ordered the vegetable korma and I must say it tasted more like a porridge with boiled vegetables. It was more like a desert than a main. The achari lamb tasted like vinegar rather than pickles. The sheek kebab was dry and not appealing to look. The paneer tikka portion had 4 small cubes of paneer, barely enough to satisfy a kid, never mind an adult. They were also flavourless and not bland. Go the kebab place down the road, you’ll be much satisfied for the value and quality.
The decor is dated and a bit sparse, however the food was a solid 8 out of 10. It MUST be noted that this restaurant does not list items in food that could cause allergy issues. When staff were challenged on this, they seem unaware of the laws of providing this information on their menus. This cost them 2 stars, I doubt they will update the menu, I won't return.
