Easy to get an appointment.Staff welcoming and courteous. Where able to reassure me with my recent loss of my sight in my left eye. However this caused a difficult problem when it came to ordering a balance lens for that eye. The staff persevere d and managed to get the several orders ordered . I was lucky enough to get an appointment within 24 hours for an issue that cropped up that had me concerned. I was put at ease by the lady optician who was incredibly friendly and informative. Georgia was friendly and welcoming on entering the shop too, and did my pre checks.
Staff friendly disappointed that every pair of glasses I liked the young girl said I couldn't have in varifocal but later when I rang to enquire about having single was told I could so that means a trip back to shop
AVOID AT ALL COSTS The wrong prescription was put into my frames, staff didn’t seem bothered or even apologetic for this. They are incapable of answering their phone to book appointments to collect your glasses, which meant I did not find the issue until a few days later when I went to wear my sunglasses. They replaced my glasses, which I had to wait another 2 weeks for, only for me to find the frames are damaged when I collected them, however, I’m unable to take them back as I need them for my upcoming holiday. Overall the staff are very unhelpful and unapproachable, they stand chatting amongst themselves when you approach the front desk and then stare at you waiting for you to initiate a conversation. The only positive of this store is the optician who did my eye exam. She was the only friendly one I’ve dealt with there.
Wouldn't even give 1 star. Waited nearly 3 weeks for my glasses to arrive and made an appointment to have them fitted which I was able to book for 2 days after I got the message my glasses were there but I forgot to write down the time. Tried calling the morning of my appointment just to confirm the time not long after they opened only to be on hold for 10 minutes. When my call finally went through there was no actual answer so I tried saying 'hello' to get someone's attention but ended up getting to listen to them serving another customer before the call cut out. Have since tried 6 times to get through again only for the line to busy, not even being put on hold. Never going here again!
Sadly the other reviews are right about lack of professionalism. Arrived for my appointment at 1430. Was told to sit. That would have been difficult as twice as many people were waiting as there were seats. At 1450 I left without anyone noticing.
The shop is way too small. There's no privacy either. You can hear everyone else's conversations in the shop, finding it hard to hear what's going on in your own appointment. Strange location for a shop when dealing with something as important as your eyes. No privacy! The range of glasses are very limited in this store too.
Took my Mom for her booked appointment left the store an hour and 45 minutes later. Optometrist was brilliant shame about the member of staff she handed the paper work over to. I Wouldn't normally complain as I know how covid 19 has impacted on all services, however this member of staff spent 15 minutes gossiping with a friend who had come into store. Looked at the paperwork queried something with the optometrist and then tossed the paperwork on a shelf. She then proceeded to lie saying she had called out the clients name which she hadn't. I heard every word of her chat with her friend. Including her shift pattern she certainly did not call out a name.
Avoid! Appointments never on time and poor fitting service. My son was told he would "grow into his glasses", this isn't correct. Changed to Wednesfield branch. Do not require appointments there. Only turned away as Blowich store hadn't updated systems correctly so they couldn't find my son's details - had to escalate within Specsavers. Happened a second time and Wednesfield took ownership, calling Blowich the morning they were next open and then taking the matter forward with us.
Very professional, service was outstanding, young man was curtious and polite and pleasant
