Always there, clean, friendly and safe. A good range of basic foodstuffs, wines, beers and spirits. And I know that they have done what they can for people during the lockdowns. Thank you from the bloke with the white beard who calls 5 mins before you close...
On holiday in the area, popped in to get some essentials with my sister. I was Browsing in the booze section to see if there was any local ales as gifts for back home. Middle age man behind counter very rude and abrupt with attitude asking if I had any identification. I said yes I have but I'm just looking then started saying well has she got any on about my sister she dont look 25, well she wasn't even in the booze section and again I was only looking! I can understand if I went to the counter with booze he had a right to ask as he told me hes just doing his job Customer service awful absolutely shocked and disgusted with his approach, not friendly at all! On entering the shop at the beginning the same man was having a arguement with another lady in the shop about something! Over priced but expected for a shop in the sticks has various essentials, but really does need staff that have people skills and the right approach! Looking at other reviews looks like it's the owner, support local business they say at this difficult time well with a attitude like that no I wont!
Love this place, always friendly staff and mostly well stocked - being the only store for miles, can't really complain about the price plus their sales are usually decent so always worth a peek!
A great selection of everyday goods and a very polite young man serving.nnI've been on Galgate since mid December and have made numerous purchases at this store now and every single visit has been an absolute pleasure.
