I had a nice walk on the Southport Pier and seen a beautiful panorama of Southport. Although it was autumn time the sea looked amazing. In summer time there is small tram that travel between the city centre and the pier. The people use this place for walk no matter the weather and is completely free.Visited onWeekendReservation recommendedNo
A great seaside place to go. Lovely walk on the pier Fresh air and a little bit windy. There doughnuts, ice-cream,mini train and cafe near the end of the pier and a beautiful view of course.
Second longest pier in the UK and oldest metal pier. There are the rare occasions you actually get to have sea under you on the pier but that’s normally when the spring / autumn tides are in full flow. There are a number of shops on the pier selling food and drinks. Our favourite is the donut shop. Always hot and fresh. At the end of the pier is a cafe and an old penny arcade. Great views to be had over the estuary and Southport seafront. All in all a great asset to Southport. Not to be missed.
It was a lovely long walk down the pier with little trains riding up and down the sea was so far out couldn't see it but the walk was nice to the end, a bit breezy but relaxing. Had a latte and a very sad ham and cheese sandwich which I hardly ate as it wasn't the best. Then rode the little train back, they even take card payment for the ride £4 return or £3 thats adult price unsure of other concessions one way was worth it, especially for the experience.
A beautiful walk along the restored 19th-century iron walkway with a train if you fancy instead. There is a cafe serving drinks, cakes, sandwiches and sausage rolls. There are vintage penny-operated arcade machines for children or adults who want to relive their youth. It can get quite windy and chilly so wrap up. A lovely nostalgic place to come. Always clean and tidy with well kept toilets. A must see if visiting the North West.
A really nice place to visit. We walked the full length of the Pier and back again, we didn't get the little train as my son didn't want to go on it as he just wanted to run around. You can see Blackpool Tower from the end of the Pier. It has a lovly town centre a few minutes walk away...
Really enjoyed Southport Pier. Was quiet on a Thursday afternoon. Sat in the cafe at the end of the pier for a couple of hours and chilled. Nice selection of food and drink and friendly staff. Little train is £4 return.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Nothing really to see here aside from some sand. The pier is in a state of disrepair, the most exciting thing here was the wobbly floor boards and not falling through them. Didn't leave the best impression.
Beautiful day out. Plenty of places to eat. Lovely town. Free parking for disabled blue badge. Pretty shops well worth investigating. Very friendly local people. Will certainly be going back. On the pier there were free loos.
If you like a long walk in fresh, bracing air, then this is for you. If not there is the "train". Old penny arcade at the top too. Unfortunately tide was out so didn't really see it. Southport is like a step back in time. I prefer it to Blackpool personally. Lords street is nice too. Will be coming back.
