The perfect little excursion if you need an airy, peaceful and charming little escape. We went for the high tea menu pictured. It has choices of tea, filter coffee and juice. The reserved space is delightful with an array of books and rose print designs. The staff are lovely and very attentive. It's perfect for tea with your family or a little pop in for tea and cake. The outside surrounds are particularly lovely and by being off the beaten track, if you need something a bit less cosmopolitan and a little more quality time, I would definitely recommend.
Popped in for brunch on Sunday. The Special is great value with a full English, toast and coffee/tea. Recommended.
Gorgeous little village café with lovely food. The festive turkey, cranberry, and stuffing baguette was nice and fresh, and had a tasty homemade mince pie to top it off. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and attentive too. Looking forward to coming again soon
We really enjoyed our toasties and tea, followed by cake and more tea! The menu is extensive and the staff friendly. We will be back. Definitely recommend
We attended in March 2022 as a family of 4, to celebrate a birthday. The setting is lovely and easy to find. We opted for the afternoon tea at £18.50 per head. The food itself was of a good standard but could have been better There were far too many scones; both plain and fruit. The sandwiches were cut into the tiniest triangles ever. The cake choices were also disappointing, as shop bought cakes were used, rather than homemade. If I went here again, I wouldn't have the afternoon tea, I would just have a nice cup of tea and choose the homemade cakes or flapjacks that were on display instead.
Best cream tea, 5+, loved it! Super fresh scones and super tasty they melt in the mouth :-
Great venue especially when sunny in gardern. Breakfast bap and cookie dough cAke was superb, loads of flavours.
Google says open, drove 40mins and were closed! Annoying
Nice little place, can appreciate the vintage vibe. Decent tea and food. I’ve only been one or twice. However i am giving it only 3 stars as I’m aware of poor management - which was also the impression I left with on my last visit after witnessing lower level staff being spoken down to unfairly. Not fitting of a quaint little tea room.
At least update the website if you are closed. Disappointing to drive out from Bedford and find you are closed.
