Southern Vectis Private Hire did the guest transport for our wedding 31 Aug 2024. I would highly recommend. The drivers punctuality and communication from the office was so good. We have had a couple of weddings on the island where SV buses took guests to & fro - its a reliable business without fault. Gemma Rowney is fabulous and I'd point anyone wanting this service to her. Great service considering its the only service on the island. Some drivers are friendly but why charge £6 for a child day pass when I could pay £3.20 in Southampton and they are part of the same organization? I also know that lots of people need service 4 and keeping the timetable to a low frequency service causes people to get the 5 & 9 just to get into Ryde! The 4 is the worst effected. Why not just make it every half an hour than hour?
In general the course of how to be rude to customers has paid off. Drivers are not very happy at being asked questions on the next bus. It’s probably not in their remit to advise customers. When at the bus station the information office should close at 6. At 5.50 ansked about fares and were told they were closed. A job well done!
5* customer service had a issue where we accidentally where double charged they could not be any more helpful or lovely about it. The drivers on the whole are always so lovely and kind.
An isle of wight service that only cares about getting your money.... totally inadequate payment service for the island. There are barely any cash machines left here, often miles from a bus stop, and the payment system they use will blacklist your card if a payment ever bounces.... essentially cutting you off from public transport. Really clever. If I could give minus stars, I would. As much as l love a 5 mile walk in the rain despite having the means to pay for a journey. Added to that, the time tables are all wrong, you can expect the bus to arrive...eventually. added to that, the app will not let you buy a single ticket. Spend £20 as a minimum. And that's only any good when there is signal for the Internet.. and as many islanders will know, the signal is as good as it was in the 90s for alot of the island. Southern vectis- whoever is responsible for this system needs to have a word with themselves. Imorral theives. It's disgusting and it's deliberate. No one can be that incompetent.
Once again Victis have done it again ,best bus service with knowledgeable drivers,very clean buses ,no matter what time of day ,try to help if they can.......wish they could sort our poor excuse for a public service ......well done once again, hope there is an accalad for public transport .
I can hardly believe the skill of the drivers navigation the narrow streets of the Isle of Wight. We took a number of buses during our holiday here, and all the drivers were friendly and helpful and made it all look easy. top marks to you all!
An excellent bus company,with a wide range of tickets. Sunday and bank holiday services were very frequent and the drivers were very friendly and helpful. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the buses. Also the routes you cover are amazing for seeing the island.
As a non bus user usually, using the Vectis busses on the Island was fantastic, all drivers were helpful, polite & friendly. Thank you for making a car less holiday easy & enjoyable. Stagecoach could learn from you.
Excellent service, friendly drivers and a clean bus experience. Probably the best in the country.
