We used South West Event Hire for our wedding last week. We were really impressed by the quality of the tables and chairs which we hired and many guests complimented us on them and how well they fitted the vibe of the venue. A few of the tables did require cleaning as they were slightly sticky but as our delivery had come a few days before the wedding it was no big issue. I would also like to say that the two drivers who delivered our order were exceptional, very friendly and were able to place all of the furniture where it needed to be in the barn it certainly removed any headache for us. Collection was very straight forward and we woudl certainly use them again in the future.
After paying a lot of money for table and chair hire, and returning all the items in a clean and undamaged state, I was sent an email asking for even more money for cleaning a couple of the tables. Apart from this they were rude and unfriendly. I would recommend going elsewhere. Take the £20 plus VAT cleaning fee out of the £840 I already paid.
Nagged for a £30 admin fee to move our date due to covid The only wedding supplier that did this and we moved 3 times eventually threatening to pass over to debt collection agencies Yeah for £30. And to be honest, the chairs we hired were of poor quality, some had red wine stains and the tables although very "rustic" as described probably need renewing. I would not recommend SW Event Hire but there aren't many other options. I should have been firmer and taken pictures of all the hired items but in the midst of a wedding day that was least of my worries.
We used South West Event Hire for our wedding. The staff were very helpful, keeping us up-to-date all the way!! The equipment was of a high quality and great value for money. I would definitely have no hesitation recommending South West Event Hire for anyone needing to hire essential equipment for any occasion.
I've used them for years, always hire an oven for Glastonbury festival. Great value, efficient communication. Drivers always find their way around this massive festival and deliver/pick up on time. Most hire companies locally don't even do this festival! Equipment is always in top notch condition and clean. They give me a peace of mind each year. Thank you!
I would recommend South West event hire to anyone. Excellent range and quality of items for any type of occasion. Delivery on time and great customer service. Superb value for money. Will use again.
Appalling customer service, I do not recommend this company. The urn we hired for our daughters wedding leaked and was unusable. I rang and emailed asking for a replacement. THREE days later, after the event, I got a reply. I even had to ask for a refund for the urn, nothing was offered. They quicker to ask my daughter for money to cover mislaid cutlery!!
Shocking Experience. We used South West event hire for our wedding. Within our delivery we ordered a chest freezer. We agreed verbally this would be delivered to our evening venue which was a 10 minute walk from the main venue. We required this freezer to store ice for our mixers. South West Event Hire kindly ignored my request to deliver the freezer to the correct venue and just delivered it to the wrong one. When they arrived they didn't call me despite me asking for them to and just dumped all of our equipment in the hall. I requested they came and collected the freezer as our only option would be to physically carry out down narrow steep streets in a small village and they said they wouldn't charge for me it so not to worry. When I called after the event to sort this refund out, they denied all knowledge of the conversation and said it was my fault as I hadn't given clear instructions! Fortunately we were staying opposite our disco venue so could store the ice in the freezer there or everyone would have been left with warm spirits and mixers! Please do not use this company as they are completely incompetent.
