I spent 5 nights unexpectedly at South Tyneside Hospital. In every department from A&E. then to EAU ward and finally onto Ward 6. The care I received was second to none. The extremely caring staff were excellent in every way, extremely kind and very hardworking day and night, nothing was too much trouble for them, all I ever heard were kind words to everyone and they made you feel quite safe.The hospital has a very high standard of cleanliness and the food was really very nice indeed. I would like to thank everyone concerned for the care and attention I received and a special thank you to the lovely cleaning lady on ward 6 who always made everyone feel cheerful. Bless you all xxx
I was admitted to the Day Surgery ward yesterday for a planned operation. From start to finish, I received excellent care from everyone. The nursing staff on duty, Naomi, Annika, Val and Michael. Mr Singh the surgeon, and all the OPD team who cared for me with skill, professionalism and importantly kindness and courtesy. You are all a credit to the NHS and STDH. I might add that the hospital is spotlessly clean and well looked after by the house keeping team. Thank you all once again
Incredible care given by the team at children's A&E. Made my child and I feel calm and supported, the girls on shift were super friendly and knowledgeable. Arranged a waiver for my car as we had to be transferred to Sunderland via ambulance without being asked sorted a packed lunch for my daughter too. The ambulance crew were fantastic too.
I can't thank the Surgeons who carried out the surgery on my knee or this trust enough. I was treat like gold from start to finish by the Surgeons and all of the staff involved in my care from the Ambulance crew to the nurses and discharge team. They are all a credit to this trust and also the wider NHS. I had a major injury to my knee on the Saturday and I was operated on successfully and back home safely by the Tuesday. I appreciate the stars aligned for me with regards to the availability of the team, the MRI Scan and an operation slot that became available but i would go as far to say I enjoyed my time in hospital. The Team are amazing, so hard working but also genuinely lovely caring people who made me feel very welcome and comfortable during my short stay. These people never stop! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, this team are what make the NHS amazing.
Spent 3 weeks recently in ward 9 due to emergency surgery couldnt fault the staff nurses, doctors, surgeons and everybody else all brilliant. Felt safe and well looked after and the meals werent too bad. Left feeling so grateful for all the care i received from the nhs
