Quietest of the Aberystwyth beaches. Tends to be far less crowded, is dog friendly and a few little kiosks provide snacks, and parking is always easier than the North beach promenade. Clean, modern toilets are just the other side of the road. Great to park up in the winter and watch the storm tides rolling in whilst eating chips, or in the summer take the dogs for a stroll on the beach. It's not a sandy beach, more like black shale, but it's still a great little beach. Stunning sunsets.
Great sea front parking and for access to town, pier, castle and harbour a short walk away.nnMy only complaint was the ticket machine was slow and over complicated leading to a big queue of people to try and pay. It really need to get onto a mobile app parking solution.nnAccessible car park and disable spaces were available. There is also public toilet and beach shower available just be sure to bring your 20p coins.
South beach, the Harbour and Wooden Pier in Aberystwyth are well worth a visit. The wooden pier allows a great view of where the Rheidol and Ystwyth rivers meet to flow into Cardigan Bay. With the tides as well, there are strong currents here in an area known as the Bar.
Found a MH parking space but was horrified at the single charge of £9 for whatever time was wanted. Left immediately and hope council will allocate some spaces at reasonable price close by so that local businesses can benefit from our custom
Wasn't on the carpark I was on the beach having a walk. I love to collect seaglass and driftwood from the beach by the castle. I make a lot of things from my bits and pieces as a hobby. It's lovely when the sunsets and you get that beautiful glow on the water. Spent many an happy 4 or 5 hours just wandering up and down. Great sandy beach and rockpools for the little kids and big ones to.
