Sous Le Nez En Ville

About

We are one of Leeds’s longest established restaurants, priding ourselves on serving delicious French dishes made from locally sourced ingredients since 1991. We specialise in quality wines and boast an extensive wine list to suit every taste.

Story

It's all about a different atmosphere. It's about good food. It's about good service and attention to detail. So no wonder the long-established Sous Le Nez is one of the most acclaimed restaurant and winebars in Leeds.

In fact, our award winning basement bar and bistro - in a handy, city centre location - has been providing mouthwatering food to Leeds diners for over 15 years. Our wine list is as unusual as it is extensive, and our lunchtime and evening menus are creative and very popular. And our portions are huge too!

My wife and I had lunch and what a lovely meal it was. As it is a French restaurant I had Fish soup and it didn't disappoint. I have not had Fish soup for a long time and it brought all the memories back from going to France on holiday. I had Calves liver for my main course and it was beautiful. The price was good and reasonable. Would I recommend and return, I definitely would. If you like my honest reviews please follow me as I review on a regular basis.
This has been an amazing dinner tonight. The menu of the day was an incredible value and for excellent food. My prawn tempura and steak were perfectly presented and both cooked as requested. The dark chocolate fondant was so delicious. My husband had the chicken liver parfait and then Yorkshire pork. Both were just as good as mine. We did dinner with wine which were very good for the price and were nice addition. Cushla and John as well as all staff were professional and wonderful servers. As many new places come and go this restaurant has been around a long time and my only regret is not coming g in sooner. I will certainly be back! Pretty hidden restaurant located under Quebec's hotel but definitely worth a visit. We ate on a Friday lunchtime and expected to eat from the set menu we'd seen online but unusually they only offer this in the evening. They do have a bar menu for lunch but we opted for the main menu and the food was delicious. Highlights were the french onion soup & Fillet steak gateaux, not the cheapest but absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly and the service was excellent with a good recommendation from the extensive wine list from our friendly waiter. We will definitely be back.
Very nice restaurant with great food cooked with passion. Super kind and warm service by ViennaFood: 5/5
What can I say, 100% fantastic! Last minute decision to eat out, and found this gem. Managed to seat us straight away, although very busy the service was top notch, very fast and on point, cleared plates etc within minutes but not rushed at all, and next course brought out without any long wait, perfect timing in my opinion, a wonderful evening, and as we know, I only give 5 STARS when I don't have to ask for a 'service charge' to be removed, there isn't one, so I get to decide if/ how much I would like to tip. KEEP IT UP FOR MY NEXT VISIT. And please thank all your staff, they were as amazing as the food!! Unfortunately I'm no David Bailey
My partner and I visited for the first time. It was really lovely. Welcoming and attentive without being intrusive and delicious food. My partner chose pork and I had lamb and we ordered the dauphinois potatoes and broccoli to go with. We shared the moules mariniere to start- glad we did as our mains were so filling! A really enjoyable evening.
Really good relaxed French eatery in a cellar bar. When we walked in we were given a hearty welcome, offered a drink in the bar before we sat down, and then shown to our table. The menu was really good and we all had difficulty choosing from great options. The wine list was large and varied. The food was ace, especially the duck! Save room for pudding!
Trying not to be biased because I love french food. It was delicious. Starters were Pigeon for the missus, Pig cheeks for me. No complaints. Very French, from the size, playing and taste. I even got the pork do for main. The belly pork was perfect. The pork fillet is not as good but still awesome. Wifey got the venison. She's sucker for beetroot or haggis. She loves it too. We mostly don't get desserts because they tend to ruin the vibe but we took our chance. I got the white chocolate mousse. It was good. Not too sweet. Gin tart with tonic sorbet. Pastry had gone soft unfortunately, and it wasn't very ginny in flavour but overall she still enjoyed it. We will be back for sure.
Absolutely stunning. Was really pleased to finally visit this place. They reopened the restaurant on 16th June so I thought it would be chaotic but everything was perfect. I couldn't fault the service, the food, the staff or the restaurant. Would definitely visit again. Set menu was good value 3 courses + wine for £32, no wine for £26. A lot of choice and everything was delicious.
Second time here. Fabulous food and wine. Friendly staff who treat everyone the same. French onion soup is their classic dish. Followed it up with trout - the day's Special. Wonderful. Not cheap, but excellent quality.Food: 5/5
