I would just like to say that I have ALWAYS found the Corsham post office staff helpful and courteous. The new owner who took over during covid has always bent over backwards to help with any difficulties. They had a dreadful time before Christmas loosing trade due to the strikes and I would highly recommend them. They have improved the shop no end. They are all a pleasure to do business with and the post mistress works extremely hard and is efficient and most helpful. I do not agree with the reviews below.
Pleased with the service provided to me. Staff were courteous. Decent selection of Birthday Cards.
Had the misfortune of dealing with one of the rudest customer assistants I have ever encountered at this post office branch. I have purchased some items on ebay for a birthday gift, however due to an error by the seller, they sent me the wrong items and so need to be urgently returned and exchanged for the correct items. Upon entering the Post Office, the Postmaster was behind the counter serving customers. When it was my turn I asked if I could send my 3 small items with proof of posting - her attitude stunk. She looked at my packages and said that I would want to seal them up with some tape, which I can purchase behind me. I responded by asking if I could please borrow some tape to quickly seal the packages up I was using the packages the incorrect items arrived in, as they were perfectly acceptable to use again, they just needed re-sealing, and unfortunately I do not have parcel tape at home in all honesty, who does!?. To this the assistant abruptly replied: "we are not a wrapping service". I challenged this by pointing out that I was not asking for the assistant to wrap them, I am happy to do this myself, I just need to use some parcel tape to quickly seal them. She continued to say I needed to buy parcel tape. On all previous occasions where I have had to return items in their original packaging, I have found post office staff at other branches have easily been able to seal up envelopes and parcels for me with absolutely no fuss or problem, and despite pointing this out numerous times to this woman she clearly had no intention of being helpful in the slightest. In the end, I was so embarrassed by the whole situation with other customers looking on that I just left without being able to post the items, all because of your member of staff's rudeness. This had a particularly heavy impact on me as I suffer from anxiety, and despite coming into town to visit the Corsham street fair with friends, this whole experience ruined my day. Thanks to the assistant's stubborn refusal to help, I am also going to have to sort out an alternative method of returning these items. Outside the shop, I spoke with another person who had seen and heard this altercation and said she had had similar experiences with this person.
Being unsure about the returning of a parcel. I asked for confirmation and was met with a cold, rude indifference. In spirit I felt very low as I left the Post Office and wished I had asked her. Have you been for special lessons in being rude or is it a natural gift? I won't be returning.
Stood in the queue I witnessed the cashier who I assume must be the new owner reduce a customer to near tears by asking the customer to speak up, as the customer was wearing a mask, and then when the customer did so the cashier / owner promptly accused the customer of shouting and being rude and aggressive. When the customer explained that she had just raised her voice as requested the owner continued to accuse her of aggression and proceeded to mutter “rubbish” and give the customer extremely unpleasant looks from behind the counter. The irony being the only person I could see being rude and aggressive was the cashier. Absolutely unprofessional behaviour and completely unnecessary. I will think seriously about using this post office in future.
The lady behind the booth American sounding accent was enjoying totally humiliating a young lady struggling to return a parcel correctly. Nearly reducing her to tears then went on to verbally abuse a older gentleman who was a bit eager to get stamps the abuse followed through with looks clearly the lady has mental health issues this should not be allowed in customer facing roles it is shocking the POST OFFICE LTD allow this to continue I've since been made aware of 15 other concerns
The female attendant in this post office has the worst attitude. I have been in twice and it’s enough to make a mark of actually making me feel unhappy when I leave this place. She is rude, dismissive and spelt my name wrong and didn’t amend it after I asked her too. For a cute little town we have just moved too, it really makes something that should be a pretty little post office visit, a negative experience.
The post office is a lovely old building. Unfortunately the waits are usually long as it’s always very busy. The staff are nice and friendly most of the time. I do feel they place a bit too much priority on the shop then the actual post office as there are only three counters for the many people that visit daily. It’s not the easiest for wheelchair users as the door is quite narrow and is not propped open etc. A photocopier is available for use on site and a photo booth for passport/Visa photos for £5. Confectionery is also sold here as well as nick nacks and cards. Bottled drinks are also sold here as well as newspapers.
If I could give no stars I would, customer service training is an alien concept to these people. Rudeness personified and will avoid at all costs in future
I have no problem at all with the staff at Corsham Post Office. The issue I have is having to queue for 30 minutes 28 minutes today outside in the cold and drizzle just because only 1 out of 3 counters was open and they are running reduced openning hours. We have had COVID-19 for 9 months now, it is no longer a valid excuse to keep blaming COVID-19 and not adapting. We all rely on our local Post Office to run our businesses and our post office is rapidly becoming the weekest link.
