I spent 3 nights here due to work, and I chose it because if the price. You pays your money and you takes your chance I suppose, but I'll try to sum the place up in a nutshell. Decor embarrassingly bad. Nothing fits or looks right. It looks like I fitted it out and I'm useless. Mattresses cheap and worn out. Windows, drafty and noisy as hell. I can hear every single footstep outside. Although the place isn't dirty as such, the room I had had a bathroom blind that was covered in mould. It gives the impression of grubbyness. Breakfast is as basic as it comes. Plain cereals, toast and tea /coffee. Not worth 5 quid by any stretch of the imagination. On the plus side, the location is brilliant. Right across from the train station. Price, not bad. A shade over 40 quid a night. Room, good size, helpful friendly staff and the bar area is cosy. Overall it's 2 stars from me. A tiny amount of effort regards the fittings, and an upgrade of the mattresses would elevate it to a 3/4. Not the worse experience I've had by any stretch, but I won't return in a hurry.

Excellent place to stay. Nice clean rooms. Nice bathrooms with bathtubs. Good view from room. Just opposite to union square. Walking distance from bus and train station. Bus stop is just in front of the front door. Spacious rooms. Nice and quite place. Helpful stuffs. Luggage storage after checking out. Only downside is that you have to walk through the bar to get in the hotel and no lift. The room service and bathrooms need improvement.

Compact but comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff. Three minute walk to bus and railway station makes it handy for travellers.

The location was perfectly situated in the centre of town. There is no parking attached to the hotel, so be prepared to pay for parking in the nearby car parks or waiting till after 8pm and searching for parking on the street. The hotel is quirky and offers kitchen facilities for guests. The bar area is very comfortable. But WiFi access isn't that fast or accessible on top floor rooms. Luckily it's only £1 for WiFi for 24 hours.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Unfortunately we will not be returning. It's ready for a refurb, it's a bit dated and worn. No attention to detail, no rubber on the bottom of shower screen which ment when we had a shower it flooded the floor - no bath mats either. No where to hang a hand towel. Bed was comfortable and linen was clean. No lift. Staff very friendly and pleasant.
