Trev and the team never fail to impress. A lovely fresh remodel to the interior. We arrived midweek without a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in. We ordered the set meal from the specials board and went for the Haddock and Plaice fresh from Milford Haven. Great sized meals , lovely staff and clean throughout. 10/10Food: 5/5
Thanks Trevor and staff for a lovely meal. Turned up one weekday evening, hadn't booked but they managed to find us a table despite being very busy. Great restaurant with lovely, friendly staff and, just as importantly, fantastic food. Adults shared haddock and chips, along with scallops and prawns. All amazingly fresh and very well cooked. Would definitely order the scallops and prawns again, delicious! Kids were well catered for too, and enjoyed their brownie sundaes. Will definitely return when we're next in the area
Recently bought two large fish and chip takeaway meals from here after driving 40 mins each way especially to visit. I'm not fussy but it was the worst fish and chips I've had in recent memory. Nothing like the other photos on here. As you can see in the photo it was more like half a fish and that was a heavy overcooked greasy soggy slab of the least fresh fish I've had in some time. More like those supermarket frozen battered fish in boxes. I had to throw it away which is a first as I'm not a fussy eater. Too far to drive back and complain so wrote it off as a bad experience. Perhaps it was a one off but I'm not inclined to repeat the experience. In contrast I had great proper fish and chips in Swansea on the way home. See other picture for comparison...that's how it should be!
A truly amazing dining experience. Better than Rick Stien in Cornwall. Fish cooked beautifully. We will definitely visit again. I would happily travel an hr to get here. Well done Team
Excellent chippy, we ate inside the restaurant. The staff are very efficient and friendly and adhere to all covid guidelines. The restaurant was immaculate and the decor is really fitting with the Nautical theme. There is a great choice on the menu and they have special catch of the day also. The children's menu was really reasonable with Chips, a choice of fish, chicken nuggets, sausage etc then the option of curry, gravy or beans and then a drink and pudding also included for £6.95. The food was amazing tasting and really well presented. We will definitely be returning again soon.
Staff are nice and friendly. Everything was packed neatly for the takeaway order. The chips were very bland though even with salt, mushy and not at all crunchy until I got to all the little bits at the bottom. I literally ate in the carpark by the chippy so it wasn't like that from travelling. The curry sauce was very bland too, just typical chippy curry sauce. Was expecting more given the rave reviews of the chippy. The battered sausage however was the nicest one I've had in a long time from anywhere, probably THE nicest actually. So two stars for the staff and sausage in batter.
I use to come her a lot during the middle 1990’s when I was working locally. 1st time back in along time, and the place is spotless and the staff where all very welcoming. I had the special rugby burger which was really good, but the fish my partner had was disappointing which was a shame.
Absolutely pathetic amount of chips for a large would need 3 maybe 4 large portions to feed a family of 4. I wouldn't like to see the small portion. Not very good chips either. Very poor. Such a shame but after speaking to many other people this seems to be a common thing. Never again.
Something's Cooking has been on my list of chip shops that I've been meaning to try for ages. When I found out that you can pre order your food and pay via your smartphone it became a no brainer. I kept my order simple, regular cod and chips as pictured. I was very impressed that it was ready and waiting exactly on time. The staff were very pleasant and friendly although due to my food being ready to collect I barely enjoyed the hospitality for thirty seconds. The food was devine and I'm ashamed to say that I ate it in the car outside the chip shop and never made it home. The batter on the cod was light and crispy and the cod itself had beautiful thick chunks. The chips were light and fluffy, simply gorgeous. I will definitely be going back there especially with them being open in the morning and the simplicity of ordering the food prior to the attending.
Well presented and perfectly cooked. My scampi was juicy with a delicate flavour and a wonderful crispy batter. Very attentive staff in a relaxed informal environment, conducive to a highly enjoyable social gathering.Food: 5/5
