First class customer service; I bought a bike from here for my daughter about 3 years ago, this year the chain keeps slipping off despite re-tightening the rear wheel a number of times. I booked it in for assessment and repair, but when we popped in to drop it off and I explained the issue in a bit more detail one of the guys overheard and said “let’s just have a look at it now” and talked to me at length to understand the problem in detail; said staff member suggested it likely just needs better nuts on the back wheel and promptly swapped them over there and then and sent us with no bill, wouldn’t even charge us for the new nuts or their time! Said to of course come back if the issue persists. Amazing service and great peace of mind for me knowing that any issues we have can be rapidly solved by this local shop who genuinely care.
Big thank you to all the gents I have been using Solent cycles for years replacing and repairing my children’s bikes and my own and always get an honest quality service.
I popped into this shop essentially to inquire upon the availability of: bright patterned cycle jerseys. Unfortunately they only had plain cycle jerseys in stock. But however if you are interested in cycling and cycle equipment then they are well worth a visit. Helpful and friendly service from staff.
On the advice of the supplier an online store, I booked my Cube Reaction in for a replacement bottom bracket, and was pleased when Solent Cycles Fareham had the correct one in stock. Ultimately, upon stripping down and cleaning the bottom bracket and chain set, they didn’t feel a replacement was necessary. This completely fixed the annoyance I’d had with the bike since purchased new in August, and saved me about £50 in the process. I thoroughly recommend Solent Cycles, for being friendly, courteous, professional, with first class customer service. Excellent!
I needed some advise about buying a bike for my 5YO boy. The chap on site took the time to talk me through some of the options and make a smart choice. I was very pleased with the service and my boy was very pleased with his bike. I decided to by a new one for myself, as mine is 20 years old and now the boy is getting into it I am spending more time on a bike. Repeat performance for me - very helpful and knowledgeable in helping me make the right choices. No fuss made when I booked it in for the 6 weeks services offered free of charge with each new bike despite it being closer to 3 months.
Took by bike in before Christmas, explaining I've had issues with the gears. After a brief conversation with the assistant I was told they new what was needed and it would cost approximately £70. When returning to the shop I was shocked to be informed that I wss going to be charged £155, also that there had replaced the cables which I had already explained had been recently replaced. After having the bike back, after a week I found that I was still having problems with gears and chain falling off. I found the general attitude of the staff really quite rude, almost arrogant. Would nit go back or recommend.
Always a great local bike shop. Been using them for 20+ years. Nothing is too much trouble and they a hugely knowledge. Purchased an Endura 'Humvee' waterproof jacket.
Really helpful and friendly service. I came in for advice as a new cyclist. I was looking for a bike and equipment. They could not have been more helpful and patient with me.
Review for solent cycles in Fareham. Popped in Saturday with a thru axle that wouldn't budge went to another shop before, they were unable to help. Were extremely helpful and stopped what they were doing to assist. Several processes of elimination and 15 mins later they had the axle out with no damage. Staff seemed knowledgeable and happy to help, explained everything as they went. Would highly recommend
