We were very pleased with the extra room Smiths of Bromley added to our existing loft conversion. It's not easy having work done but the guys from Smiths made it easier everyone involved with our project were friendly, polite and professional. We did change our minds and added bits to our project as we went along and Terry, the owner, was very accommodating and nothing was a problem. Thank you to you all for a job well done!

I initially contacted Terry when we in the process of buying a house in Bromley, we were not sure whether the loft was suitable for conversion and Terry was able to have a look on Google Street View and assured me that they had done similar ones in the area. When we moved in we had a few companies come to quote for the work and they told us we would need to move walls in existing bedrooms to accommodate a new staircase or lower the ceilings of the first floor. I hasten to add that these companies sent their salesman/surveyors. Terry came over to have a look and explained to me how they would be able to give us a reasonable head height and fit the stairs with no changes to be made to the first floor. As Terry knows the intricacies of these lofts, having done lots himself, he drew me a little sketch showing what we would actually get in terms of head height and space. We were hampered by a few teething problems in the initial stages and then Christmas but Terry and his team more than made up for it in getting things moving super quickly. All the guys are just lovely, polite, clean and tidy and were really accommodating to the fact that I was at home most of the time with a young baby. The final finish of our loft is absolutely beautiful. The carpentry really tied the whole project together at the end with all of the things that I hadn't really considered (e.g. fitting fire doors to keep the look of a 1930s house). Our new staircase to the loft is crafted perfectly and from a quality pine rather than the MDF versions offered by other companies. What is great about Smiths is that they are local, trustworthy and highly skilled builders. Any problems, Terry will be on the case immediately or send someone round to collect rubbish etc. rather than having to go through some Project Manager located in an office with no building experience themselves.

Smiths were great. The loft went from start to finish so quickly and without any hitches. Everyone involved was professional and polite - arriving early and answering any questions we had. Terrence put us in touch with people who could do the bits not covered in the quote (e.g. decorating), and they all felt like a team. Thanks very much.

Our first time working with builders & tradespeople - Smiths definitely exceeded our expectations. Friendly, approachable, customer-first mentality, and (most importantly when you're entrusting the keys to your house to a stranger) reliable. We were impressed with how fast & smooth everything went and nothing was too much trouble for the team. Kudos to Terry, Dean, Martyn and team for impressing some hard to please customers! No hesitation recommending Smiths to others for loft conversions.

I highly recommend Smiths of Bromley as they have done such an excellent job on our loft and it was a totally stress free experience for us as a family. Right from the outset before the work even started, Frank the surveyor was incredibly helpful in looking after a nervous neighbour. Our fitters Jake and Ryan let us know what was happening every step of the way. They were super hardworking, a pleasure to have around, and the house was always clean at the end of each day. Even on the day they broke through the ceiling for the new stairs, the house was left so clean we couldn't believe it. Nothing was too much trouble and Jake was always there to answer any questions and make us feel looked after, which we really appreciated. All the tradesmen were fantastic and the plumber, electrician, tiler, carpenter all turned up at the perfect time to get everything in place quickly. The rubbish was always taken away by Kev, who did such a great job of keeping the front of our house looking tidier than it ever has. We also have a lovely new roof. Massive thanks to Terry for always answering texts promptly and being so helpful. We had no issues at all, the project was finished in less time than expected at a great price. Our house looks fantastic, we have more space for our growing boys and we've made money on the house. We couldn't be happier.
