We stayed in the penthouse suite for a weekend. The hotel is beautifully presented and very clean. The staff are brilliant and happy to help with anything. The penthouse has plenty of space, a large lounge with corner sofa and dining table and a balcony. The bedroom is larger still with a balcony and bathroom extending the full length with a large bath. All in all we had a great stay and will be returning later in the year to get married.

Although the service at blacksmiths was good the hotel was not the best. Although rooms are extremely comfortable which you would expect given that they are normally used for holiday rental, the rest left a lot to be desired. Food awful, promised breakfasts didn't happen as no where to sit with no apologies either. Certainly felt as if was on a conveyor belt

Family dinner for 8 on Mothers day. Service and food were poor. Had to ask for our order to be taken. Had issues with half of the meals, 1 was burnt, 1 was under-cooked and 2 were not hot. Been to Smiths many times over the years (Got married there). Standards have really dropped, the signs were there on our previous visit but this time was really poor. I spoke with 2 duty managers over the next couple of days. The 2nd one said the general manager (operations manager) Yash would phone me to discuss the bad experience.....3 weeks later.....still waiting. I used to recommend the smiths, but the only recommendation i would offer now is DON'T go. Very disappointing.

Excellent. Lovely room. Fantastic food in restaurant. Happy pleasant staff. Can't find fault with visit. Looking forward to next visit.

Absoloutly brilliant time here. Staff so caring and food and bar all brill. Thanks folks for a great time.
