Without a shadow of a doubt the best place to eat in ruthin. The staff were incredible. The vibe was amazing. They didnt rush us even though we were a late sitting. The food was insane. Everything was absolutely stunning.
Absolutely lovely service and atmosphere. The food was delicious. We had the bread sharing board, sizzling prawns, beef brisket, pork shoulder, chicken escalope, Indian spiced cauliflower and sea bass goujons - would highly recommend them all!!nWe even bought a headband for our daughter as we were leaving - handmade by one of the chefs!!
We got married at Yr Hen Lys/The Old Courthouse in Ruthin, we went to Small Plates for our evening meal. There were 21 of us in total but it was not an issue. The staff and service were incredible, the drinks flowed, the food was out of this world! We were all recommended to get a starter and 2 small plates each, it was the perfect amount, every dish was presented beautifully and the flavours were spectacular. We even had people in our group with the strangest of allergies, but the staff were very knowledgeable about all of the ingredients in the dishes and were able to tell each of these people what they should avoid. I would highly recommend this very special place, and the dessert/coffee if you have room for it! Thank you Small Plates, you were beyond our expectations!
Highly recommend Small Plates to anyone visiting Ruthin! For someone who always wants to try a bit of everything, this concept is ideal, and none of the plates disappointed. Special shoutout for the onion & chive butter that came with the bread, the butternut squash & sage risotto and the bakewell tart, although everything was absolutely delicious. Great service too. I am not local but hope to visit again in the future!
This little place is an absolute gem. The food is superb I can't say anymore.
