Ellie and the events team were excellent at helping us with our big day. We felt that we were in safe hands from our first time at Skylark through to our big day. The catering and bar team were accommodating and friendly both on our tasting day and throughout the wedding, not to forget that the food and drinks were amazing. We were so happy with how smoothly everything ran and how helpful everyone was - thank you!
We got married at Skylark on Sunday 26th May - We cannot explain how amazing everything was! We haven't stopped talking about our special day and how Skylark did everything so perfectly! We had so many lovely compliments on the food, the team and the whole running of the day. Someone even said it was the prettiest wedding venue they had ever been to, which we couldn't agree with more! We wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the team at Skylark for making everything so special for us. From the moment we booked, the wedding and events team were incredibly professional and supportive, answering every one of my many many questions. Shortly after we booked our wedding, it was announced that Skylark was being put into administration, this was understandably concerning but the team were there to support us at every stage of the planning process and made us feel 100% more relaxed! A special shout out to Amy who made the initial stages for wedding planning so exciting and effortless! She went off to have a baby which is equally as exciting but we felt sad that we'd lost her. Thankfully we were assigned to Elly Events Manager and we instantly knew we were in safe hands. Elly ensured our day ran perfectly and truly was the day we'd dreamt of. During the evening, Jason took over and was amazing. Regularly checking in with both of us to ensure we were okay and making any necessary changes. We cannot explain how thankful we are for everyone at Skylark.
I ran a charity golf day at Skylark, with 88 people attending the event. From start to finish, the staff at Skylark were fantastic, starting with Shannon in the Pro Shop and filtering through to the bar staff and hospitality staff serving the food and drink. The course itself was in immaculate condition and the area provided for the meal and award presentation was of more than ample size, with outdoor seating either end too. This was my 5th charity golf day, was by far the smoothest and well run, thanks to all the support from the course. Will 100% be returning next year. Mark
Went for brunch here on daughters birthday in the restaurant/ cafe area. Had a great time! Weather was nice and sunny so we sat outside. Food was good and served promptly with no fuss. Would definitely go back again.
After getting married at Skylark last year, I finally got around to playing 18 holes of golf on Tuesday, I managed to book a weekday 2 ball with my younger brother for a very reasonable price. I was anxious ahead of playing due to the impressive surroundings and beautifully maintained course but on arriving the atmosphere was chilled and the pro shop were friendly. Course was in excellent condition and had some brilliant holes, a nice mix of difficult but forgiving if you missed a fairway. Other players on the course were really friendly. I will be back next week to play again and am considering applying for a membership as it's one of the nicer courses I've played in the area.
Excellent! We held a wake at Skylarks , the booking of the venue was handled with kindness and sensitivity, nothing was much trouble. Excellent value for money and food was perfect and loads of it. The waiting staff were fantastic. All guests were very impressed
Came to use the Spa facilities. The Sauna and steam room require fixing as they were too hot. That's coming from someone who loves the heat. Changing rooms are awardly placed as you need to walk past reception to get to the Spa. However, the Spa and pool area does have a nice atmosphere.
Played this course for the first time this week. On arrival we were greeted in the pro shop and advised where the first tee was and invited to use the club house for coffee. All the staff were friendly and polite. Great coffee and the food looked lovely. The course was well kept with some lovely views. It’s quite steep and some longer walks to the next tee than we are used to. There is a a wedding venue which was being used when we finished playing. It was nicely decorated. The gym and pool looked good too. I would recommend checking this place out for golf, gym, swimming pool, wedding venue or just lunch/dinner
Fabulous course, great value and great service two. Played a couple of twilight rounds recently, £16 for a buggy, and we were round in 3 hours. Super friendly service in the bar and proshop too.
Popped in here for some lunch with my wife and sister as visiting the area. We were seated in the bar area which is quite informal and pleasant overlooking a decking area outside. The outside area looked really nice but unfortunately the weather wasn't. I ordered fish and chips with the others having the lemon chicken stir fry. Unfortunately we must have caught them on a bad day as the food was not nice at all. The batter on the fish was soft and very undercooked and mushy inside. Regarding the stir fry, the chicken was extremely dry, and the vegetables very greasy/oily. Due to the bad weather, the place was quite full golfers sheltering from the rain and staff busy, which probably explained why our comments about the food were ignored by staff collecting plates.
