EDIT: i will leave my review as it is below so people can read the past experiences i have had. I forgot my renewal was coming up, i had to shop around as the price had increased slightly - i was provided with a much better quote and interest rate to spread the payments. Sky were "unable" to match the price or even get close to it, first time in 5+ years. Disappointing as i have been with them for quite a while and have moved many family members to them and recommended them to friends. They offered a reduced renewal but refused to send it to me in writing to prove the quote that they had given to my new insurer. Been with Sky for many years now and was originally attracted by their competitive prices on performance / modified cars. I have stuck with them through a good no. of car changes and have moved a lot of my families and friends policies over too. They insured me on my dads range rover at 25 for only a small amount extra whereas other companies wouldn't even entertain the idea regardless of the fact i had a car of similar value and more power. Naturally i shop around every renewal to get the best deal, sometimes they have been a little bit more but they have always met or bettered the quote to retain the business. I have read quite a few of the reviews on here and from my experience the only bad thing i have experienced is the wait times to get through. That said, i don't feel i would mark them down for this, many insurance companies are the same or worse and once you are through their prices, service and fairness are worth the wait. Thanks

I have been using Sky Insurance for about 6 years now. They have always been very competitive for my renewals and on the occasions they haven't been the best price, they have always matched a competitors price. I have never had any issues with their customer service, always been very good.

I was quoted a price and paid the full amount online. The policy was then caught in validations and a phone call was required. From here a representative explained that there was an outstanding balance of £106 additional due to a website glitch. Hopeful they would honour there original asking price, I had asked for the original quote to be honoured which meant a web-sales agent then rushed me through a new application for a policy which I did not accept due to the price. Despite the outstanding balance this policy would have still been at a competitive price... I did not however agree with the way that the sales team dealt with my case and therefore they instilled very little confidence in myself. I do not agree with this insurance broker's sales practices. This would have been for a learner policy, thus Sky Insurance would have recouped the difference on a full drivers policy regardless. I have not gone into detail on the constant back and fourth with this company, over the phone but I have had a negative customer experience. It is frustrating when there is no accountability, even if it is a website error. To be charged a full amount and have to wait 14 working days for the money to be refunded to then start searching for a new policy is not the most convenient thing. No matter, I will hopefully find a policy elsewhere. (Editing this post) - Also they did not refund the deposit on the policy. Do I have any rights as a consumer... Could someone assist me please?

Been with Sky for several years with one car and recently moved my second to them thanks to Adrian Flux jacking their prices up by an insane amount. They've always given me a really good price on my cars which are on their performance and modified scheme. Can't speak for general, young driver, or trade policies though. Customer service is good, staff are usually friendly and treat you like a human rather than a number. Avoid calling at peak times if you can. I think they only have a fairly small number of staff who can come across a bit frazzled or rushed when its busy though still usually more polite and less robotic than other insurers! I've only had one bad experience where I was waiting to speak to someone for 45 minutes. My other half called after I'd been on hold for 25 minutes and got through before me though it still took her 20 minutes. Once through it was sorted in 5 minutes. Unfortunately I had no choice but to wait as I was on a garage forecourt waiting to drive away in my new car. I had called the previous evening to swap cars but they were funny about setting a timed changed over (understandably) in case the part-ex fell through. All in all good. 4/5 stars due to occasional long wait times and problems they've had with their payment systems in the past.

The upfront cost was competitive with over insurance but however their monthly payments where at first calculated being spread across 10 months online but once I contacted them I was told they will only accept 8 months of payments which drove up the monthly cost, also if you get the black box and have to travel to work a lot at early houra and late evening this will drive down your driving score dramatically. Along with this the price of purchasing more miles is almost double its competitors like insure the box where they quoted my friend who is same age, lives in same neighbourhood, drives same amount was quoted around 200 for 2000 more miles whereas I have to pay around 418. Customer services seems helpful sometimes but do help you if you ring them direct at a good hour (around 11am in my experience) but one fault is that they do take very long and you are held on hold a lot but with patience this isnt a big issue. just dont ring them during your work break or you might find you will have no break left! The way the young drivers insurance is set up seems like they do what they can to get as much money as possible out of you, it is very unlikely i would recommend to anyone unless you drive very short distances, during the day or the price of the quote is way cheaper than the competition
