A very lovely place. Decoration and fittings was exceptional. Nice attention to detail. Our room was massive and beautifully presented. Everyone was friendly and helpful. A very nice place to stay. WiFi was great but there’s no phone signal.Rooms: 5/5
Unimpressed. Nice staff. It ends there. No fireplace in the evening. “Not enough staff” to light one. The “cocktail lounge” is literally the least cozy bar I’ve entered in the UK. Seating is weird and limited, the lighting is the white LED type vibe, along with much of the hotel lighting. It just has zero cozy vibe at all. More of a generic big hotel vibe. In my opinion, not worth the money. Comfy beds.
Talk about a hospitable and friendly team! From the folks at the front desk to the cleaners to the breakfast servers, we felt welcomed by everyone at Skeabost. The room was spacious and we enjoyed being able to open the window to allow fresh air in. Our only complaint is that the other folks staying in the hotel thought it would be fun to slam their room doors throughout the night – highly recommend ear plugs and/or white noise for sleeping. Sue was incredibly friendly at breakfast and the food was good. Central location to all-things-Skye!
Had the most fabulous Christmas Day lunch. Stunning food, decorations beautiful, festive atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. Absolutely made our Christmas, highly recommended Food & drinks: Wonderful!!!!
Amazing! This hotel is so romantic and has so much character. The service was wonderful! John from the front desk always greeted us with such a friendly smile and set up our reservation and taxis for us. John, our bartender was wonderful as well and made several Great recommendations. The property is so beautiful. Well worth the cost! I want to go back to Syke just to stay here I loved it so much! Rooms: Beautiful rooms with great character
I thought this hotel was overpriced and needed renovations but I liked the location and the river on the property. The building itself looks nice and has some charming elements especially in the wooden details and in the lounge rooms. The breakfast was very good and it was nice that there was a restaurant in the hotel. For the price I paid and for a 4 star hotel, I expected a bit more. Overall it appeared a little rundown and stuffy. There was a strong musty smell in our room and opening the window was not possible due to bugs that came in. The hook on the bathroom door was falling off. I paid more for a view, which you can only enjoy if sitting outside and this area was covered with small flies as soon as you sat down. If the price was adjusted for the experience it would be ok.
This was a surprising find on Skye. I had always stayed in a smaller boutique hotel in Portree which was booked up for this visit. We chose Skeabost due to its central location and 4star amenities, which did not disappoint. The hotel was very well appointed with nice rooms and luxurious bathrooms- we even had a king size bed. The real star was the hotel restaurant- we had a fabulous meal here- far better than anticipated. I will certainly be back! Rooms: Most American style rooms I have seen on Skye- large, king size bed, three piece bath. Very nicely appointed. Walkability: Not walkable to any major sites or businesses. However the hotel itself has wonderful walks in the grounds and on the beach, and the hotel has all the amenities needed. A quick drive to Portree provides anything else needed.
Staff were fantastic, especially Sue how do you do. Sadly the hotel feels a bit tired. Rooms are very small and ridiculously overpriced! Can’t help but feel ripped off and taken advantage of for the price we paid. Would be a two star if it weren’t for the lovely staff. Tourist trap.Rooms: 2/5
Attended this Hotel for a post funeral buffet. Very disappointed as I thought this hotel would be a bit above the Premier Inn standard but no. The sandwiches had limited fillings, egg, rubbery ham, ?tuna maybe?. The tomato soup was ok, a little flavourless. Worst of all were the sausage rolls, very thin puff paste with a huge piece of chewy sausage, absolutely disgusting. The staff were pleasant ...sorry won't be back
We were looking for a place to have our evening meal after our micro wedding and the Skeabost ticked all the boxes! We loved the range of packages they offered and the menu looked delicious. We opted for the package to dine in the private billiards room and it was a perfect end to a perfect day. We arrived to find our guests relaxing in front of a fire with a glass of bubbly, the room we dined in was beauitful with lots of privacy and we were able to use our own playlist. The food was amazing and the service was 5 star! Our planner Oskar was also amazing in helping us arrange everything so it all went according to plan. Would highly recommend!
