Not ideal for flying a paper aeroplane like I thought... nnReally nice walk with outstanding views, but the path isn't really a path... So you have to just keep walking until you finally reach the top.nnWalking back down, I say you should go back the way you came, because we went down a really steep way which was not good for some individuals...nn8/10 :
Quite an incredible view accompanied by an incredible walk. You quickly move from town vibes to nature as you enter does park. The walk up to the top of the hill is quite breathtaking with ocean, town and hilly views. A beautiful breathe of fresh air.
Nice walk up to the monument with superb views from the top . There are 2 or 3 different routes available , ranging from easy to hard , it takes about 20 mins to walk up . Nice attraction for Ulverston. Good to get your steps in !
Beautiful walk going up, good for families and small children. View from the top is lovely.
I’ve went up Hoad Hill a lot of times when I was living in Ulverston, but I don’t regret it one bit. First, you get good exercise. There are a lot of stairs to walk up, but you can see a lot of Ulverston from there. Second, when you get up, the view is amazing. Although it is windy, which it always will be on top of a hill. From there, you can take it one step, or should I say 112 steps further, and go up the Sir John Barrow Monument, where there are names all over the walls and a beautiful view of sheep.nTalking about sheep, make sure you’re careful while climbing up, because you could stand/sit on some of their poop.
