Hilliers is absolutely superb this time of the year . The flowers are full of blossom and colours . We went for a walk today, and we needed 3 hours to explore the garden. We had a lovely lunch at the cafe shop and the food was very tasty and the staff was really nice and polite. One thing I would suggest is adding some litters along the garden, I could not find one, not even on the children playground area. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience , and we will definitely go back .
Spontaneous visit to the gardens with family. Lovely, big park with a wide variety of flowers and plants to admire and really appreciate. Cafe and Restaurant available in the park. The restaurant in particular was brilliant in terms of customer service, the waitering team were polite, friendly and helpful. Service was a bit slow at times but it was slightly busy I guess. Whilst the food itself was presented beautifully, it didn’t in my opinion taste note worthy and I think given the location and prices it should have for that overall experience completeness. The restaurant itself was a nice, clean open space - hygiene was brilliant including the washrooms. The cafe at the start of the park was pretty much then downfall of the park, it was run by a load of ‘women’ who were nattering away at the till point, huddled in a circle together and were completely oblivious to the fact that I was standing there waiting to be served - when asking to pay for the food, it was as if I had offended them! Very unprofessional and impolite - please sort this out! If you don’t like your job, you’re free to go elsewhere, don’t ruin the visit for the rest of us! The signage/posting around the park was a bit lacklustre and inadequate, could improve the signage and the children’s play area could do with a much needed overhaul and improvement, with more kit as opposed to just a couple of swings. All in all, worth a visit.
Great day out, large garden with different areas of trees and plants from all over the world. Peaceful and relaxing, with plenty of seating at every corner. We had lunch and it was good and sensibly priced. You could easily spend the day here exploring. I will come back again. And very happy that no dogs are allowed.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Beautiful gardens and an abundant array of flowers and plants. Nice picnic area and activity stopping points for children. All the facilities you'd expect for a nice family day out. Family tickets are a great price all in all.
What a beautiful garden. I visited in April and the flowering shrubs were amazing. I was part of a group doing Forest Bathing with Adore Your Outdoors, which gave me a chance to really pause and enjoy my surroundings. I noticed there were loads of natural and experiential activities for children which my kids would have loved when they were young. A gorgeous place to visit with a great cafe and plenty of parking.
This is a fantastic place to walk around if you love to be around nature. If you are disabled they have taken a lot of time and care for you to enjoy most of the gardens and there’s a lot to see . I don’t know if I’ve ever seen so many different plants in the same area and so well looked after. Took a slow amble round the gardens and was there for over 5 hours and still did not see everything. If I’m ever in the area again this would be the first place I would revisit.
Perfect place, both for long and short walks. A pleassure for the senses, the garden show its astonishing beauty every month of the year. Family friendly, the gardens have educational areas, sculptures, musical instruments and slides for the kids, and "pub tables" everywhere for family picnics. Membership recomended.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Beautiful gardens! Plus great places for children to play. The flora is beautiful and well looked after. A wonderful day out for the family
Lovely day out with my family at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. Beautiful garden, reasonably priced entry fee, lovely staff. We arrived around 11am on Sunday, and we found plenty of parking places . We bought our ticket by the entrance, and the lady who served us quickly explained where we could find everything and gave us a map. We spent about 1.5 hours in the garden. It is absolutely gorgeous.
Wonderful and extensive gardens. I liked the balance of neat looking cut grass areas with plenty of meadows left for insects and nature
