Simon's paintings are a thoughtful and exuberant explosion of colour and texture. They bring joy to our house. Simon himself is a friendly and welcoming host at his home-based studio gallery, always interesting to talk to and ready to discuss paintings, give advice and explore new ideas.

Visiting Simon's studio is a treat. The way he captures light and landscape, or the changing moods of the sea can be astonishing. Often richly textured and worked, these are paintings of real intensity and depth.

We have visited Simon's gallery a number of times over the past few years: It is always a stimulating experience, and fascinating to see the new tack he is taking: There is always something new to see. My overriding sense of Simon, and his work, is of the absolute centrality of place. Whether he is portraying the moorlands beyond Glossop, or the banks of the Ganges, he has the capacity to capture and inhabit land far beyond representation of its physical form.

I love Simon’s amazing capture of light in truly stunning artwork. Really looking forward to his new seascapes. It’s a fantastic experience seeing Simon’s work in his Glossop studio.

I came across Simon's work a few years ago and especially love his vibrant pictures of India. I have just brought three of his prints from that series and they are absolutely wonderful and the quality is excellent . Thank you Simon for bringing such joy and colour into my home !
