My friends and I had a great meal here the other evening and absolutely loved this cute, cozy restaurant. Between the food, drinks and service, we were all very impressed. The food quality was fantastic : there was a great range of things, even on the set menus they provided and there was something to suit everyone's taste. The drinks were also well made and had lovely flavours to them. The service was fantastic as well and our servers throughout the evening were helpful and great at recommending dishes. The only downside for us was the sticky toffee pudding, as we all ordered it thinking it would be out of this world and it wasn't warm which made it taste a bit dry. Overall though, I would definitely return.
Interesting fish n chips. The lamb would be the only meal I recommend. Dessert flavor is too fresh and light. The price is average. Overall, I will not visit again even though the deco is quite nice.
The restaurant is inside a building which was formally a silverware manufacturing site owned by George Ellis, hence the name. We visited as a family on a Saturday evening and booked ahead 2 days before, managing to get the last available table. It's a very nice restaurant, the staff were very attentive. The food was OK, quite expensive for what we had in my opinion but it is a fine dining restaurant so expect these prices!
Visited before a show in town and sampled the early bird menu. £30 for 3 courses. Pork Belly to start and oh my was it delicious. Sumptuous melt in the mouth. The following braised lamb course was almost as good but I'm afraid the BBQ sauce accompaniment was a little too bold for my taste buds. The pudding of Sticky toffee was delicious and the Yorkshire tea ice cream delightful. If your ever in Sheffield give it a go you won't be disappointed.
The food is decent for the price and the service was amazing. I found the flavor of curry powder in the chicken terrine a bit overwhelming and the Yorkshire pudding was too greasy to eat with the roast beef.
The steak was cooked perfectly! It was the best patè I've ever tasted! Beautiful atmosphere and the staff are so lovely. Amanda was so attentive and made our evening! Especially after my partner accidentally dropped his honeycomb on the floor and she brought a replacement! There was a couple complaining the fish was off near us, however my partner had the same meal and it was in no way "off!" The way this customer swore and abused the staff for discount or a free meal was disgusting. Again- the staff handled the complaint so professionally and listened so attentively. Highly recommend this place! Thankyou so much!
Hidden on a stunning little back street in the centre of Sheffield you’ll find that the service and ambiance at Silversmiths’s is absolutely fantastic. The food is equally as impressive and whilst I’d suggest some of the dishes are a tad confused and potentially dictated by a chef who likes to utilise fancy gadgets, the actual component parts of the meal are exceptional. The highlight for me was dessert. A stunningly well crafted and well thought out dish! Certainly worth a visit! Recommended.
Very poor visited last week for my birthday meal. Been numerous times before and was pleased. so was confident of a good meal. Very disappointed on this occasion never asked how the steaks wanted cooking which goes hand in hand wherever you go. Luke warm food too and an attitude from the Manager:-. Did get a substantial refund but would rather have had a meal like we’ve had on previous visits
Had a lovely meal with mum and hubby celebrating mothers day. Food was excellent, attention to detail first class and they were very supportive to cater for mums limited mobility. I also liked the payment option, done on a tablet so you can clearly see what you are being asked.
Quite a frustrating experience. There are clearly some talented chefs but everything else was unfortunately quite poor and all totally avoidable. No one to greet us when we arrived, tables way too close to each other so we were part of three conversations the whole evening, Saturday night at 7.30 and they had run out of steak, served the wrong drinks, our neighbours served the wrong food, bar staff constantly on their phones and shouting across the restaurant. Food was tasty and cocktails were great. Everything negative could be rectified with some training and a sharpened attitude
