Wheelchair accessible park. Beautiful gardens, bowling green, tennis court, children's play areas. Clean, well looked after small park.
A beautiful space to relax.nSome lovely flower beds, lovingly tended by the volunteers of Friends of Silsden Park.
It's a lovely park with many dogs and children playing side by side. I only wish people would bother putting their rubbish in the bins and not just drop it where they stand. Also dog owners should be able to recall their dogs even if they're friendly. If your dog is heading towards a stranger dog, call them back. Even if your dog is friendly doesn't mean that the other dog is. Ours isn't aggressive, but other dogs makes her incredibly nervous as she is a rescue and she has been attacked by other dogs before. So even if we are training her to be more comfortable around other dogs it needs to be on our terms and in a controlled manner.
Today it was Gala Day at Silsden Park. Various local organisations had stands. A pipe band played. What made our day was the Steeton Male Voice Choir, who sung a good variety of songs, both traditional and modern. Their rendition of Mister Blue Sky actually made the grey clouds and the rain stay away. For anybody who liked their style of music and might be interested, they meet at the Methodist chapel in Steeton at 7pm on a Monday evening.
I actually loved the park but, and it a big but, a parent of one of the other children I went with said their child found a tin containing drug use items, thankfully no needles. Other than that there a play area and a skate park, a stream and lots of open space
