Don't get the hype. Food is quite oily and service is average. Good for those who love the szechuan peppers flavour and looking for a quick feed. Portion sizes, especially the noodles are large and prices are decent but unsure if this worth travelling out of the way for. Would have liked more protein in the noodles and more flavour in the cucumber salad
As a Chinese girl lives in London, I’m so happy to find this place! It almost feel like tapas consider the low price, so you can order 1/2 dishes more to try different things. All good are delicious, I will definitely go back to try other dishes. Strongly recommend!
I'm still loving Silk Road after the renovation. The same familiar menu, same familiar tastes, same familiar staff, but far more room to enjoy a mellow dining experience and particularly handy if you want to bring along a large crew of people. I generally go for TEP noodles which is a journey in a bowl wading through long hand pulled noodles, tomato, egg and chilli. Shredded kelp is mellow and life affirming. Home style cabbage last night admittedly had a little less chilli heat than I remember, but I swear that stuff will keep the flu at bay if you consume a bowl of it. The only criticism I've ever had of this place is why they don't do a veggie dumpling. Surely it would be a money spinner.

Been recommended this restaurant in Camberwell, and I thought we'd give it a shot. I have read some reviews just in case but I find it hard to align myself with the negative ones.nnFirstly, the interior of the place is simple yet tidy and clean. Everything looks organised and nice especially compared to many London restaurants that look alarmingly unhygienic.nnThe service was good and the team was pleasant. Nothing bad to mention.nnAs of the food it was clear that it is not a typical Cantonese / hong kong style place. The food is lovely, and reminded me of Murger Han a lot, though I immensely pointed out the fact that this place is cheaper and serves noodles etc. with a look more sauce, vegetables, and meat in general. Also, there are a wide variety of dishes. Meat is pretty much standard especially lamb and pork but there are also a couple of vegetarian dishes available. The dumpling were pretty nice too, but the main praise goes to the noodles which were handmade and so very very ice.nnOverall the flavours, the portions, the prices and the atmosphere were all fine and happy to be returning here again soon.
