This is a nice wide beach with nice laid back atmosphere with some decent shops. Plenty for all the family to do including body boarding and surfing in high season. There is also the Jacob’s laser and also some nice gardens to stroll around or have a picnic added to this parking is not too expensive and can also get some free street parking if out of season or early.
We are visiting the area and enjoyed the Sidmouth Folk Festival 2022. Great atmosphere in the whole town, with street entertainment and street food everywhere. The people attending the festival are all enjoying themselves and having a great time.
Really lovely day here. From Kent , so was only a visitor passing through. But along promenade bit there are buskers dotted about singing every genre it felt like. Market was lovely. Couple of stalls I really wish I’d come back to. Seemed to be a few more locals about here. You know who’s local with how friendly they are and willing to give information and local advice. We’d wanted to walk along the bit that’s closed off at mo. Obviously we wouldn’t have gone in there as was closed off but a local man did just explain it was closed due to cliff falls in recent weather and that we’d be better off the opposite end of the town. We did walk up to the other end not far and had a lovely time even saw some Morris dancers
Sidmouth, must be one of my favorite seaside towns, always very clean and immaculately kept. Fantastic assortment of shops plus plenty of nice places for food and drink,a lot of towns could learn a lot from how this looks and how it's run, well done Sidmouth. Revisited July 2022.
This is a great seaside town with a lovely beach it is mainly large pebbles but there is some sand when the tide goes out towards the Jacobs ladder end...The beach always looks clean,we actually see some locals litter picking...Well done you,it a shame that there is litter to pick up in the first place there are a lot of people in this country that do not respect our beautiful island and leave rubbish everywhere they go..I would love to dump it back in there gardens...Now back to the beach the sea is lovely and clear also...Overall a great place to visit......Another visit on a very stormy day,as you will see by my photos the sea was quite rough throwing sand and pebbles across the promenade....With people and children standing there and getting soaking wet.....A bit silly if you ask me as they could have been hit on the head with some of th pebbles being thrown into the air....
Very very busy and crowded beach on a UK summer day. Beach is clean and not too deep. These qualities make it a picnic friendly place. Be careful with pelicans. If you leave food they may attack. We need to make sure beach is clean.family beach and pictureque surroundings. There are hotels around the area as well. Nice hotel boards we saw. Its cold in may to be able to go in water. July or late june will be better to get in water.
Stunning every time such an amazing colour and views. Large pebbles and sand at one end when the tide is out. Toilets nearby. Lots of cafes and places to eat. Local shops and parking all within easy walking distance. Suitable for wheelchairs as it has a long wide promenade with seating.
5 stars plus for sidmouth and it's beach! This was our favourite beach find while staying near honiton. high tide you have a pebbly beach which is lovely to sit on and watch the waves, or you can enjoy watching from the prom right next to it. low tide is transforms into a stunning red sandy beach that's shallow for kids to enjoy. two large man made rock formations create a great little cove where there's plenty of opportunity to go rock pooling. walk round to the right and there's more rock pooling and the beach next door is accessible when the tide is low. we loved it!
Our local beach, always a stunning place to be.
Beautiful beach but remember your flip flops as it's pebbly!
