Checking in for an appointment this morning , An elderly lady was calmly waiting two in front of me , eventually her turn came and she asked the receptionists if it was possible that anyone could quickly see her as she had fallen over and hurt her head ,pointing out at the same time that she knew that minor injuries were seen at the Beacon but on the off chance somebody could perhaps help until she made her way up to the top of town , the two receptionists both informed her that minor injuries were dealt with at the Beacon , she would have to go there !! As she turned to walk out I could not believe what I was seeing … Blood was dripping off of her nose from a gash about 3-4 inches long and gapping open , which would definitely need stitching . WTF…….where's your compassion ???
We visited as a temporary patient and saw Caroline, the nurse. She was so professional, kind and patient- explaining everything to my son as she went, to reassure him and inform him about what she was doing. Really impressed with the treatment we received.
Please is there any way of finding another system of answering the darn phones.....29 minutes I was waiting, which is a huge long time when I am trying to get my very confused, 95 yo mum medical assistance. Once through though, the nurses and doctors are pretty wonderful. It's just when we need their skills and knowledge, we need it quickly. We know there are too few medical centres for so very many patients...if only we could change that and have more surgeries...we can only hope eh.
3 years ago we could be proud of the Sud Valley Practice. They were efficient, well staffed, reassuring and professional. Now, they pay rubbish to over stretched staff who are struggling to deal with the volume of calls and the lack of staff to deal with them. Who's at fault? Management. PAY YOUR STAFF AND RECRUIT SOME MORE.
My partner Peter Abrahams was brought to your practice last Friday and seen promptly by Dr Hall. He recognised dehydration at once and also likely sepsis. He not only put Peter on a drip in the surgery but also persuaded us that Peter should be taken straight to hospital. We and all his family are very grateful for his immediate response and professional expertise. Peter is still in the RD & E hospital but has responded to loads of antibiotics and is, slowly, on the mend. - at least in part we are sure thanks to the response of your Dr Hall. When someone has been given antibiotics. Is clear of an infection, told by receptionist results are clear, but yet told a gp won't do anything until the antibiotic course has finished??? If no infection, why taking antibiotics. Not being even able to speak with a doctor and being left in discomfort and pain. I feel this action will be taken further.
Always pleasant, patient and take time to deal with your enquiry despite the service being extremely busy
Very helpful and thoughtful- despite the huge work pressure they're under.
