Very friendly and proactive service with flexible terms and seemingly having a good inspection routine of their units. They noticed and informed me my unit was left unlocked within about 2-3 hours of me emptying my storage and removing my lock, and were happy handling the cancellation entirely remotely with no exit fees or similar
I agree with many of the reviews regarding the facility being very secure. However if you are facing difficulties and forced to pay late then please stay away from this place. I was in hospital for a month and notified them of this. However despite paying them £130 in late fees, I still received relentless texts from Karen threatening to sell my goods. The behaviour was the complete opposite of what I was shown upon signing the contract with them. Please be aware that they will attempt to sell your stuff at a drop of a hat.
I would recommend this place for storing our things for short term or long term. Easy to accessible and available to rent for best price. I am happy with customer support as well, they guide me well how to access and use the storage.
Karen and Dave were amazing. Best customer service reps I’ve dealt with, helped us get the best deal and made everything super simple. Great staff!
My unit was burgled within a few months of being a customer. The ‘You had one job’ meme comes to mind. Be aware there are no CCTV cameras inside the building to protect customers; ridiculous considering the rental costs. The standard lock Shurguard provides are very easy for thieves to break into. Once a thief works out how to break into one unit, they can break into every unit - with full peace of mind since there’s no CCTV! I had 6 police officers come to the site. They told me several other units were burgled around Christmas. Shurguard has been very quiet about all of it.
Had a storage unit here for two and a half years, and each year they put their prices up by 15%, so that it went from roughly £200 to £260 per month – that really is much too high an increase. They also weren't especially helpful when an item of mine went missing, even though it was quite an expensive thing.

Karen was amazing, very helpful friendly person who explained everything and made the move in process easy. Single handedly chose Shurgard over any other storage option in Reading because of the service provided. +++

Great facilities, very convenient and practically located for us. What made a difference is the amazing customer service from Karen. She explained the whole process very clearly, made the admin bit a breeze and was so helpful with my questions. Would highly recommend.
