Coming up from London, this coach station is head and shoulders above London Victoria. Cleaner, friendlier people, smoother service, easy to navigate. To top it off, it's an easy walk into town or you can take advantage of the great local transport connections.
No parking and if there is a car parking is not evident at. Super inconvenient can not stop to drop a passengers
Poor location for pickup & drop off. Travellers with suitcases and heavy bags tend to require onward travel, which includes collection by family and friends in cars. Surrender some of the limited street parking to an accessible pick up and drop off point. If one exists already, then clear signage is required.
Needs a lot of attention, despite me complaining about mince around the place, after going at Manchester City Council sum better serious about of making sure this place is as close to Manchester Piccadilly. But, still needs more work, despite if you are waiting after hours, and needing the bathroom you either having to such arena which isn’t the safest place in own opinion.
I’m a Flixbus coach driver, have mixed feelings about this place. Station staff are ok, though some are not. I try and be helpful and courteous to other drivers, some reciprocate this whilst some don’t. There’s a couple of miserable shop owners on site that serve coffee, not really nice coffee either… would be nice if they said thanks for my custom other than the daily grunt I receive. The station itself is fine, with plenty of room to manoeuvre coaches. Wish they would deal with the mini cab drivers who offload directly outside. Anyway it is what it is… a bus station with all dregs of life hovering around there….
