My wife and I, together with our daughter and her partner, attended at Shrigley Hall for afternoon tea on 25th November. Never been before, but what an amazing venue. Absolutely stunning setting, and from what we saw of the interior, very smart and impressive. The staff were very obliging and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. On learning that it was my wife's birthday they put together a small tray of cake and sweets nicely decorated, and presented it to my wife. A lovely gesture. The afternoon tea was well presented and delightful. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon in wonderful surroundings. Thank you Shrigley Hall and staff, we will definitely be coming back, and we would recommend this to anyone.
Beautiful place for afternoon tea. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Lovely setting with a beautiful tree in the centre of the room. Gorgeous views over the countryside. The people who work there are so accommodating. Great afternoon tea, would definitely recommend and return in the future. Nicely decorated at Christmas time with lovely festive music. Cosy and warm throughout the restaurant with nice lighting.
I had a work conference at this place. Beautiful building and very open grounds. Room was nice and modern but I heard they have some older looking ones too. Staff were helpful, friendly and made sure we enjoyed our stay. A bit pricey but I'd probably go again.Rooms: 5/5
Went for a works Xmas party. The food was delicious fantastic vegan options staff were very helpful and friendly. The place itself is a little traditional dated with lots of dark wood furniture, just not my kind of nice however it is spotlessly clean and set in the most spectacular location. Although we didn’t go in the spa the outdoor pool looked amazing
Booked an overnight spa stay and paid extra to use the spa in ther afternoon too. The spa was lovely and due to it being quiet at times my daughter and I were the only ones in the pool. The evening meal and breakfast were amazing too. However I would not recommend eating or having a drink at the spa bar. We paid £12 for a measly bowl of soup with the tiniest sandwich. Should have just had soup with bread, which would have been half the price. Also we were charged £4 for 1/2 a diet coke that was poured out of a bottle. Total rip off! The female manager was miserable too and Our room was quite dated, which was a shame as friends had used the same deal and been allocated a much more modern room. I would return though as we loved the infinity pool and the surroundings. The staff in the main part of the hotel were very polite and pleasant.
A remarkable place so steeped in history. My daughter booked am overnight stay for us to celebrate Mothers day. The reception staff are so welcoming and very kind. We were in Room 241. The bathroom door locked the night staff came and sorted it out. Note to maintenance fix the door catch. Rooms: We had a beautifully spacious toom with a fantastic bathroom Safety: All safety measures in ace . Everything beautifully sign posted. Well done Team. Walkability: I am unsteady on my feet but everywhere was sign posted and safe . We did a brilliant woodland walk. Food & drinks: Food was exceptional. Delicious fresh produce . Both full English and continental options. A lovely warm dining area. Staff with smiley faces this l like.
Came here recently for the first time to enjoy the Golden Morning session. The facilities are really nice and we loved the outdoor heated pool. Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Shringley Hall Spa. There is a nice cafe there we had coffee and did not eat. There are some select treatments included in this particular package, which are lovely, but far too short. By the time you enter the therapy room and speak with the therapist and get undressed, the treatment lasts approximately 20 minutes. A slightly longer treatment would make the experience much better. We liked the sauna, jacuzzi and pool also - which were well maintained. The spa environment looks very nice but could look better - we noticed hanging wires from the ceiling and cleaning equipment stored within the spa. It was a little unsightly in line with the rest of the environment. Overall, it was a really pleasant experience and we have recommended this to friends and family.
Had a lovely time here for my friends birthday, Courtney in reservations helped me book it last minute so big thank you to Courtney! Best place for the value of the spa packages for miles around; the outdoor pool was a perfect temperature and the massage and facial we had was a really enjoyable experience. The cafe is a bit overpriced, but for a treat it doesn’t dampen the experience. Plus the cake and coffee was amazing. Would recommend!
This place is a disgrace for what it claims my room 118 a classic double was to be fair very very tired mattress was gross shower poor a bath with no plug shower screen no seal so just flooded the bathroom floor very poor lighting probably a good job view of the roof littered with rubbish!! To claim to be four star or even luxury is a disgrace and should be reviewed and by the way if you want to use the spa swimming pool etc that's another£50 midweek .The restraint wow what a load of rubbish take it or leave it menu very very poor .The toilets near var area absolutely stink the stench of urine is just what you need prior to going for your meal.please think twice before using this place I stayed for 3 days and it was only because I'd payed up front for those that I stayed for the whole amount .On a brighter note breakfast was good and was fronted by a brighter more friendlier lady but be warned
Excellent location, tasty afternoon tea, and outstanding infinity pool, but I am afraid the hotel is far from clean. It is very dated and regrettably most surfaces, doors, walls, floors, and windows are horribly dirty. You can see from the moment you enter the hotel. Sadly, the same is true for the bedrooms, at least the one we stayed in located in the newer extension at the rear of the hotel. It would benefit from a deep clean top to bottom.
