One of the most beautiful cinemas. Nice staff, beautiful design. There is a selection of snacks. All in all, a great cinema
Can get cinema tickets for a good price, if your a member, helpful kind staff. Looks clean and tidy whenever we go. Could do with a better pick & mix selection
I would give zero stars if I could. Haven't been cinema in years. Go to take my son and they asking for proof of age on deadpool and wolverine movie as its a 15 and my son 14. She said its like buying underage alcoholic drink.... no it is not. It's apples and oranges. It's a movie that he already has seen other movies and knows swear words. It's not lime it's over explicit in and sexual scenes etc. I got a refund but won't be spending my money in any cinema again.
Saw 10am showing of Deadpool Wolverine. Enjoyed it as it was quiet. Place was clean, staff were helpful and friendly. Down side was we ate a large bucket of popcorn before the film came on because of all the adverts and trailers. Schoolboy error! Lol
I had a truly shocking experience at this cinema when I sustained a severe brain injury after falling from the top balcony in one of the screens, landing on the concrete floor and losing consciousness. To my disbelief, when I tried to investigate what happened, the staff members were instructed to lie and even told emergency services that I had jumped! However, all the witnesses confirmed that I had fallen. A staff member who I knew admitted that the managers had asked her to lie in order to avoid a potential claim. Due to the cinema's negligence, I suffered a severe brain injury and had a coma scale of 3. Additionally, the failings of both the cinema and the Derby NHS staff at the time resulted in an apparent coma scale of 13. Everyone else but myself had there money returned as the film was cancelled. I can confidently say that I will never set foot in this cinema again.
Excellent cinema, open until late, screen rooms are vast, plenty of seating, some of the special rooms for feature films have lovely recliner seats, decently priced for films, staff friendly and helpful, treats are slightly more expensive than supermarkets but not terribly priced, most people bring their own and there isn't any notice to say you can't either.
Zero stars also if I could. Just on customer service and management. A group of us me and 5 family members went to see Beetlejuice 2 this evening. My 10 year old nephew being one of them. Now we all paid nearly 70 pounds for our tickets for the large screen. And me and my husband bought the beetlejuice combo. Bare in mind our tickets were only £12.49 each the betteljuice combo was £14.95! More than the tickets. My nephew after the movie wanted his own cup only to be told we had pay for the whole combo again. I asked if a drink deal could be offered with the cup At this point was willing to do anything to make my nephew happy. We didn't need popcorn we'd just come out of watching the movie. They refused and said he'd got to have the whole combo what with no movie now to watch? Disgraceful letting a kid down. Found out that cine world selling for 7 pounds. Looks like we'll be taking our cinema screening elsewhere if you cant budge for a little kid. It isn't over I will be calling in tomorrow with a formal complaint. Might I just add I've been going to this cinema a long time and never had an issue before in my life. I'll say again disgraceful!
Since showcase have stopped the directors hall/lounge experience we haven't been to the cinema at all, used to be regular cinema goers because the whole directors experience made it feel special, heard of many many more people also staying away because of this also. Sorry showcase you seem to have scored a massive own goal.
Very poorly laid out and not at all clear. It's as well the movie we went to watch was free sky VIP film because we left. I can't walk very far and took far too many needless steps just to be faced with a far too long a distance to get to the screen. Better organisation, signage, deployment of staff and a few seats might have prevented the wasted steps and I might have made it to the film on time. My partner went down to the lovely individual on the screen door taking the tickets for the free screening and he couldn't even access them on his mobile due to no Internet signal and no customer WiFi. All in all it left a bad impression, I'm sure it is a fantastic place and great cinema experience but not for someone with limited mobility.
Always tidy, clean and well maintained. Great service and selection of food and drinks at any time of showing. My favourite cinema in Derby.
