Both my children have been part of this Dojo for several years. Their primary focus and mine as a parent is that they develop their fitness levels, focus and discipline. I can 100% say that it delivers on all these levels. Sensei Frank is brilliant with children of all levels and abilities and I couldn't recommend him highly enough. Great progression through the 'belt' system so also gives a good sense of achievement and pride.
We are students at this karate dojo and have been attending for around 5 years and in that time, we have learnt many skills towards self defence and discipline - me and my sister are now brown belts. Sensei is an AMAZING teacher and we have really progressed through his training. It is also a good opportunity to make many friends and so I would highly recommend Sensei and the dojo if you are looking to learn self defence with a teacher who really cares about your development.
My two boys have been attending Sensei Rhind's Okinawan karate dojo for several years now and not only do they both love it, they have developed their confidence in and out of the dojo as a result of Sensei's fantastic motivational skills and knowledge of karate. I would highly recommend him.
We have been attending the dojo for around 4 years. Frank sensei is a great inspiration and teacher and all the children have great respect for him. He has shown particular sensitivity and support when my own child has had their own struggles and difficulties. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in their child getting into karate, great for fitness, discipline and dedication.
Sensei is great with the students! He is patient and has worked with so many students with different needs. He is so encouraging to every single one. Sensei is clearly very skilled in a wide range of martial arts and only wants the very best from his students. My kids love him!
My both kids attend Sensei Rhinds class on a Saturday. A very experienced martial art teacher who has given years to his skills. He keeps the students engaged and interested, making the karate session fun and informative.
Having trained in different arts/styles over the years and with different teachers, I can honestly say Shurinryu completely exceeded my expectations, and went above and beyond what I previously experienced, training in other styles. The structure of training always leaves you knowing where you stand, since you always build upon what you learned in a previous lesson. The training is fun, interesting, and quite often thought provoking. Sensei Rhinds is deeply knowledgable and still approachable and open. He's very good with children, he can make them laugh and also listen. My daughter has lost interest with some similar activities. She's been a member of Shurin ryu for over year now and still going strong. I highly recommend
The karate teaching of Rhinds Sensei has given meaning, structure and fun to my son's life for more than 3 years. The twice weekly online lessons during lockdown were a lifeline for so many children in our community. I wholeheartedly recommend Shorinryu Shorinkan karate school!
