Shoreham-by-Sea is a coastal town and port in West Sussex, England. The town is bordered to its north by the South Downs, to its west by the Adur Valley and to its south by the River Adur and Shoreham Beach on the English Channel.
Given the length of platform, all passenger trains stop here, which is really good. Busses to Brighton / Rottingdean is available just outside the station. Couple of pubs and restaurants nearby. Waiting room available on the right side, as soon as you enter the booking office, with limited collection of books. Coffee shop available inside early morning to 12 PM and outside as well. Frequency to trains to popular stations specially London Victoria is relatively good, once every 30 mins on Mon-Sat, and every 1 hour on Sundays. I like the Littlehampton - Bedford services that operate twice in the morning , and Bedford - Littlehamptrom that operate in the evening. It helps those who work in Central London area. Ticket Counter staffs are friendly, and coffee-shop staffs are very-very friendly. I like the complement biscuit that you get when you order a Coffee :.
For the most part the station is well equipped - staffed ticket office, ticket machines, refreshments stands - but the 'wheelchair access' between the platforms consists of leaving the station, using the level crossing and re-entering the station on the other side - which is not much use if the train is coming and crossing gates are down! The service to London has also decreased in frequency since we moved here in 2012.
i dont like trains i like busses so no good for me also crossing very noisy and takes ages wich makes all the cars kew along road also pub at end dont sell train tickets or bus tickets but that not there fault i suppose
Clean station. Best to purchase your tickets on the 'Trainline' app and collect them at one of the machines at the station of departure.
Absolutely disgusting and rude woman on duty in the ticket office at Shoreham By Sea West Sussex this morning 27/02/2019 Had my daughter in tears! Seriously in need of a lesson in manners and some customer service education, I will be making a formal complaint!! This needs to be addressed!
It's on the main line to Brighton so easily accessible from London. Right on the river Adur so nice view also the beach is wheelchair accessible with the new boardwalk.
Frequent services to brighton, Southampton and Portsmouth
Has 1 ticket machine each side, office rarely open, has a one-stop North side, and taxi rank South side.
Get train to Portsmouth Southampton & Brighton most train are on time as well
