The food or the service? I still can’t decide what was better. the dolmes were exquisite and the aubergine dip #2 with warm bread just amazing. The stew was the right balance of rich and flavourful but the star? The lamb shank you could eat with a spoon it was so soft and tender… top it off with the most pleasant staff, from Massoud on down through the team… as much as I want to try all the options definitely going to try the other aubergine starter, #1, the baba and yogurt with mint, I cannot see myself getting another main than the 6-star lamb shank. Wow, wow, wow, and thank you!
Absolutely delicious food, fantastic service, clean and comfortable place, ... And very reasonable prices. We've lived in Oxford for nearly 20 years and have been largely underwhelmed by most restaurants here. Shiraz seems to be that rare thing, authentic food, lovingly prepared, and unfussy. We were lucky to have Iranian friend who recommended this dessert, see photo, which reminded me of falooda, but was simpler and utterly delicious.
Was so surprised at how good and juicy the food actually is! I love going to different cities and trying grills, as they all have different tastes, but this place is quite affordable and gives you a good amount of food too; good portion sizes. The staff is very friendly and helpful too, making the experience nicer! The place is not too big, not too small, very cosy. Will definitely go again in the future!
A really nice place, the plates are delicious, although the main dishes are big enough, you should also try the starters. There is wine which is not in the menu. You can ask it to the people working there.
A gem of a restaurant. The food was delicious, came in large portions and was inexpensive. £80 for 4 starters and 3 mains. The service was spot on. A great experience all round.Food: 5/5
Very tasty Persian food. Perfect service by Mr. Masoud as he was amazing and helpful. I hope that you will not be served by Mr. Sienna . As he ignored our requests.
Place: The place is small and cozy. They open the windows on nice days and it’s such a nice vibe. Food: The food was absolutely amazing! The food is so authentic and delicious. Service: Un-welcoming and slow. Did not enjoy the service. Overall: The food and the vibe absolutely made up for the bad service. 10/10 recommended.
Scrumptious & authentic Persian cuisine in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We tried the mixed grill platter, which had a generous amount kebab.
We recently visited Shiraz Restaurant with few friends. Food was super delicious with generous portions. Staff were friendly and the restaurant owner Masood came to our table which was very nice of him to check if everything’s ok. Definitely will be back again soon and this place will be our one to go on regular basis.
I've passed this place so many times and finally got the chance to give it a go, SO glad I did! Food was amazing, as was the service, such a great atmosphere inside. Testament to a load of happy customers! I entered cold and hungry, I left with a full belly and heart. In my tour of Oxford restaraunts this is the best place on Cowley Road so far. Going to see if I can try every food spot in Oxford this year.
