We ordered takeaway from here tonight for the first time… would definitely not recommend. Firstly we were charged £37.30 that was collection for 2 curries, 1 rice, 1 plain Nan and a “large” chicken pakora. The curry had 4 pieces of small bits of meat and not much more in the other. The Nan was pretty stale and your lucky if we had 7 bits of pakora. Prices absolutely criminal, think they defo make the prices up as they go… I would recommend avoiding!!
This is a fantastic traditional family run restaurant. As soon as you walk through the door your are given a friendly welcome. Old or new customer you are treated like a freind. The cooking and selection of meals is fantastic and varied. The taste, well I've travelled and to be honest this is the best tasting food. The staff are super friendly and helpful they will recomend and advise. No "you'll need three rice's" to bost the takings here advise . On my very first visit ordering for two i was advised " don't worry you'll only need the one portion sir" and what a portion. I mentioned the food was fantastic, but they don't shy away from filling your plate. Friendly fast and with the added benefits of Delicious and varied menu. There is parking, small but I've never had a problem if there is a lot of cars then there is a very large carpark in the village less than 5 minute walk. If your in the area even if you have to travel this is well worth it. Go I and enjoy 10 Star food and service.youll walk out feeling you've been going there for years and with a smile on your face.
Truly one of the nicest dining experiences I've had. Great attentive and friendly service. I love a vindaloo but it wasn't on the menu so they cooked one especially. Full of flavour and as hot as I like it. The decor is very nice and they clearly spend money on the upkeep. If thoroughly recommend.Food: 5/5
My partner and I had our dinner here on Friday night. It was clean, welcoming and the staff paid attention to detail. They had a group of young waiters that were learning their trade. They were all polite, friendly and were a credit to their senior staff. The food was superb, the wine was also excellent. To top it off, one of the friendly staff members offered to drive us home when we asked about booking a taxi. We will be back again soon, top class!
Went here tonight with family and 9 of us all agreed it was a success! Food was lovely and fresh, nan breads great too. All staff were lovely, one gentleman in particular went out of his way to accomodate our 3yr old granddaughter, who also enjoyed her food. Will definitely be back and would recommend this place highly!!
The restaurant is very nice the staff are very nice and friendly the food was delicious nothing was a problem we had my two grandchildren who are 3 and 4 with us and the staff were very good with them , the service was excellent I would recommend this place very happy with itFood: 5/5
Dinner for 2. Food was excellent and good service but I was disappointed with the bill. £105 for 2 starters two mains and bread. £8 odd for a bottle of sparkling water!!!! We had two, and 2 glasses of wine.Worse, £8 for 2 poppadoms and a teeny bowl of spiced onions and a splash of chutney. I'm glad I didn't bring the kids or I'd need to remortgage the house!! So whilst the food is good, some of the prices are a bit ridiculous so for that reason I wont return. There's a sign on the door that states the price on the menu may not be the price you pay. However this I'm pretty sure is illegal. You need to charge the displayed price so the menu needs to be changed. At the very least consultation with the customer when ordering as most of our items were dearer than stated on the menu.
My husband Manj and I are visiting here from Canada. We were recommended to try this place and so glad we did. This is the most authentic Indian food that we have ever had. It is a family run business that has been passed down through the generations. Now being run by Tabby 3rd generation who is a very nice man.Tabby gave us 10++ customer service. The portions were perfect, the flavour was impeccable and the service was second to none. So please make sure you try Shafiq's Shimla Cottage. You will not regret it Manj and Lynn Singh
