Interesting small town. Spectacular Abbey, Waitrose difficult to find. Best to research Sherborne before visiting ! Trying to find a taxi difficult. Tiger taxis - excellent. Luckily. Walked into the town and were exhausted. Asked about taxis noone seemed to know ! Asked whether there were any at the railway station. Told trains didn't stop there. Untrue as we saw one or two stopping there !!!! Also discovered after the event that there was a phone there to order a taxi !!!!!!!!!! Not all natives are helpful.
Lovely little train station, with a cafe opening times from 8am until 2pm and ticket office manned by rail staff not open all the time, rail assistance available via pre booking, mobility scooter sizing aid on platform 1, steps and foot bridge to platform 2, dropped kerbs end of platform for wheelchair user's and correctly sized mobility scooters. Tactile yellow line before ledge of platforms.nDisabled Toilets require Key, but all toilets are locked upon staff leaving, nearest toilets Sainsburys
Anne at the ticket office is brilliant. So helpful. Its a shame SWR offer such a poor and unreliable service.
Fabulous little cafe, serving breakfasts, rolls and sandwiches through to mid afternoon.
Sherborne is a great place to visit, lots to do and see in the town, great cafes, local food and pubs.
