I booked an appointment with a gp and got an appointment for the 23rd at 1200 .. it was with a dr s hakim .. I had never seen this lady even though I have been with this surgery for many years ..nwhat I received from this lovely doctor was just so unexpected ! She looked into my problem in detail though the other doctors also do that but there was something very calming and assuring about her demeanour and I immediately relaxed as I was initially rather tense a because I didn’t know her and b was having a bad day of health ..ndr Hakim was very caring and I came out of that meeting relaxed and felt she had really addressed my health issue ..nto be honest all doctors in this surgery are excellent and give proper care and diagonis but I have come to realise it’s what we are putting out as patients that really works against us .. we are not open and receptive to new doctors and new methods or techniques and unless we are open and accept that change is really a good thing and there are others in the practice who are also excellent we patients will always have a problem ..nSo I request the patients visiting this practise which I am so proud to be a part of to accept the new way this practice is moving forward .. grateful to dr khullar and partners for choosing dr hakim .
My elderly parents have been patients at Shepperton Medical Practice for almost 6 years. I have accompanied them for most of their appointments over this time... of which there have been MANY, increasingly so as they get older now. We have only had positive experiences, with the wonderful attentive doctors, the nurses and the reception staff. I feel like they've always received the care they needed, especially when its been an urgent matter.nWhenever I hear people grumble about healthcare in their area, I brag about the amazing practice my parents are patients at and how grateful we are for this!nnI strongly feel that all the negative ratings on here are not at all indicative of the high standard of this practice. In general I find that people are far more likely to write a negative review when they're unhappy than write a positive review for all the times they are happy.nnAlso, the new appointment booking system is absolutely fantastic, and we always get an appointment in such a fair time frame according to the need.nThank you team SMP for being brilliant! I had an extremely disappointing and upsetting consultation with Dr. Parthiepan Visvaratnam at Shepperton Medical Practice today. From the very start, he was dismissive, rude, and showed no empathy towards my concerns.nnI had abnormal blood test results earlier this year and was advised to repeat them after six months. When I finally managed to get an appointment to discuss my concerns, Dr. Visvaratnam refused to request the tests I asked for, questioned my lifestyle choices in a disrespectful way, and even suggested I was suffering from “health anxiety” rather than listening carefully to what I was explaining. Instead of a supportive discussion, the consultation turned into an unnecessary debate driven by his defensiveness, insecurities and lack of patience.nnAs a doctor myself, I know exactly what I was asking for, yet I was met with arrogance rather than understanding. He even refused to check my blood pressure despite me clearly mentioning my history of hypotension. He started questioning me and my knowledge about various aspects. This lack of basic care and compassion is unacceptable from any doctor.nnWhat made this experience even worse was his attitude towards the NHS itself; stating that tests shouldn’t be done because of money and “system pressure.” Patients should never be made to feel like they are a burden, especially when they come forward with legitimate health concerns.nnAfter waiting so long for this appointment, I left feeling emotionally drained, unheard, and deeply disrespected. This is not how patients should be treated. NHS practices must take greater responsibility in ensuring their doctors have both the medical knowledge and, most importantly, the empathy to treat patients with dignity and respect.nnI strongly advise anyone referred to this doctor to be cautious; this was one of the worst medical experiences I’ve ever had.nnGet your insecurities sorted Mr Parthiepan Visvaratnam.
My husband got an appointment for our 8-year-old daughter this morning. After school, at 3:45, when we arrived, the woman at the reception said they lost our appointment for some reason. And it wasn't her who did it, but her colleague. How is that possible? I arrived with my baby 2-year-old. I can't go back and forth. And she told me they lost the appointment and to come back in an hour! I'm outraged. How can there be such service? The worst GP in Surrey. Disgusting!
I put one star because I had to in order to leave a review. Best thing they did for me was send me to the Ashford overspill clinic..The whole structure at Shepperton medical Centre needs to be addressed it is nothing short of shambolic...And if there is a proper doctor in that surgery please step forward...
