The fuel prices were good, and from there it went downhill. I said " hello" to man behind the counter who was most inconvenienced about having to remove his headphones and interact with a customer spending money. His utterances were mono syllabic and rude. The till receipt said that I had been served by the Manager, so no point complaining there. I will however alert Shell UK via the Customer Service number on my card with them. They need to know why I would rather pay more elsewhere for fuel than visit Shell Service Station in Porthmadog again.
Much higher petrol prices than the Tesco down the road. I really don't know how they do it, but the staff are the most ignorant people I have ever seen. No hello, always watching TV on their phones as they are serving, awful.
Had a completely flat back tyre and needed to get back home to Mold, an hour and half away. Scraped together 50p and put in machine only to realise it was £1. Only had a £20 note so went and asked for change in the garage. Woman there refused and said she didn’t have any change. My boyfriend explained that it was a health and safety issue and that the money was so they could provide us a service they offered but she still refused as she said she didn’t have any. I told him to go back in and just buy the cheapest thing they had, which he did. Miraculously she was able to magic up change of the £20 note from the purchase of a pack of chewing gum although minutes earlier she swore blind she didn’t have any. If you’re going to charge for air at least have the facility to let us get the correct change for it or don’t charge. Or at least get personable staff that have a bit of customer service training or don’t blatantly lie to customers who are in a genuine predicament

I dropped in on a late Sunday afternoon to use the jet wash and it swallowed £2 with no action. Alas... the coins could be seen jammed further down in the coin slot, not falling through. I went in to see the attendant; his reply was; "There should be an out of order sign on it, someone else reported the same earlier, There's nothing we can do, that machine is not our responsibility." I matched outside, back to the jet wash... annoyed. I looked over the machine top-to-bottom, the out of order sign was nowhere to be seen. So I went back inside, and said quite crossly to the attendant; "There is no out of order sign there, I'd like the phone number of the person who is responsible for the machine, and the phone number of your manager..." At that point the attendant very quickly refunded my £2 and stated that he would put a new sign on. The reason why I have given a one star review was that, while I was still parked in the wash bay, the attendant walked out with a key to the jet wash unit and attempted to open it. The attendant seemed to have difficulty in doing so. This seemed to strongly contradict to what the attendant had stated verbally. If the machine wasn't the attendants responsibility, he or she certainly wouldn't be issued with a key... It is my opinion that, the attendant refunded my money, only because I wanted to escalate to the shell station manger. Unfortunately as I drove past 10 minutes later, I noticed the same attendant with the jet wash unit successfully opened; I speculate that the attendant was emptying a full coin box from the day, and clearing out all of the jammed coins from slot. One Star... I would have rather been told the truth, and waited for the machine to be made serviceable, than been told "not our responsibility, nothing we can do...", which in conclusion, was false.
Stood outside for 10 minutes at 8 in the morning. Supposedly open 5.30 til 11. Nobody on the tills. I understand nipping to the loo but vern over 10 minutes with no sign of anyone
After being stuck up Barmouth my friend had ran out of petrol not enough to get home. To our amazement we saw a petrol station that opened at 5:30! What did we do waited till 6:15 and nobody was in there. Very very poor. Door shows that it opens at 5:30... don’t have it on the door unless you ACTUALLY open at 5:30. The phone line also didn’t ring through.
We came last night at 1am with no gas and thought we'd be sleeping in the car- luckily Shell has pay by phone, which means even though the station was closed, we could get gas! Yay!
Heading for Snowdon not sure if they've heard of it here, small Mountain around 10miles away as I'm sure a lot of people coming through are and yet this is the only Petrol Station open before 7am ... or at least it would be if it opened at 5.30 like it said! If you're in desperate need of fuel don't expect any before 6am at least!
Happy, helpful new fuel attendant such a pleasure to be served by the young lady, great to be served by someone making the effort to say in Welsh Diolch /thank you & Nos Da/ Good Night when I left tonight. Well done you Shell garage for employing her
