Never had a bad meal from here. Food is good, portions are generous and staff are friendly.

The food in this takeaway is absolutely lovely.There are so many varied dishes and some very unique tastes. Its walking distance from my home. That's the good part. Sadly with food hygiene is a big factor for the customer and that is where this place seems to fail. I had stopped going there for over a year due to this very factor and was just falling in love with the food again despite having no confidence the hygiene had improved. I get the impression its not a factor they even consider and its almost there to see. Two days ago I went in and ordered a Chicken Tandoori Mixed grill. It would have been my third meal there in seven days. As the food was being prepared I watched the cook rubbing down the stainless steel cooker with what looked like a dishcloth. Next a long skewer was wiped with the cloth. Cleaning away whilst doing the cooking you can see they work hard. Next thing I see is my hot chicken meal being removed from the skewer with the same cloth that had been used to clean. I asked the cook to let me see close up the cloth I that had just grasped my food. it was not shown to me Im sure because of the inevitable and from the distance away that I stood it looked filthy. Theowner here really wants to look at the image , clean the coveralls so they are not alwys looking so like aa used dishcloth. The cooks here work hard and have been there many many years at least 15 I guess and they really need the support from the owner with hygiene as the cooking is superb. I really hope that the matters raised above happen as I am sure I would eat here 2-3 times a month otherwise. At the moment I have to get deliveries from the Shah Tandoori in town or walk to Agni's rather than spend money on my doorstep.
