Story

Established in Sheffield, England since 1840 we are the region's oldest Auctioneers and Valuers, (incorporating A. E. Dowse & Son Limited). Sheffield Auction Gallery and our team of Specialist Valuers give free detailed advice on all aspects of pre-Auction Valuation and Auction Sale.

We hold fortnightly Antiques and Collectables auctions and Quarterly Two-Day Antiques, Fine Art, Silver, Jewellery and Watches Auctions, plus a monthly General auction.

Alongside our regular schedule we hold dedicated Auctions for Football Programmes & Sporting Memorabilia, Specialist Collectable Toys & Comics, Medals & Militaria plus Coins, Stamps and Postcards. New sections introduced include Vintage & Designer Fashions and Vintage Wines and Spirits.

Bringing items in for valuation couldn't be easier, we have a large purpose-built two story Auction Gallery with large car park, disabled access and our team of specialist valuers are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 4pm for free pre-auction advice.

We hold many regular Valuation Days at the Gallery and at Specialist Events throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire (including Chesterfield Market Place) and Nottinghamshire together with appearing at many County Shows with our exhibition trailer.

Incredibly helpful customer service department; polite, cheery and above all, accommodating.  The same can be said for the movers; all of the above as well as being prompt, careful and professional.  This is the first time I have used Sheffield Auction Gallery and based on this experience I would definitely use them again and would have no qualms in recommending their services.

What a rip off,  I took some items in to sell,  I was told they will only take 11% commission. What they negotiated to tell me they will take £1.72 for insurance.  And a massive shock that they took £18.00  just to take a picture and put it online,  wow.. a 2 minute job which doesn't cost a penny to do, Let's put it this way... I will NEVER sell or buy from them again,   what a rip off,   they took in charges nearly half the value of my items.

Top quality experience Good range and good value for money. Car parking and a Costa coffee house next door. Staff are excellent.

Great place to sell your old antiques that have been stored in your loft space.Staff well organised & helpful.

This was our first ever auction house experience although we used 'The Saleroom' to bid via the live stream. We won a number of items at excellent prices and the auctioneers were great. We found the whole process simple and easy and the sale room assistant team when we went to collect our treasures were marvellous and really put us at ease. Can't wait for the next auction!

Paid to register to bid via easylive but unfortunately they would not allow me to bid , yet i have over 180 successful purchases some of which from here and i will add none of the items actually worked. However i thought i would have another go at another auction  but had a prejudice response saying i had a block so i cannot bid with them, i was not worthy.... will never buy from these again very unprofessional auctioneers. I dont have a block i was ripped off by an auction house and complained which apparently black lists me..i have tried to contact Easylive who are as much help as a chocolate teapot. AVOID

Only discussed with their knowledgeable staff so far. But they have been helpful.
